Hi all,
first time I saw this:I wrote with an Italian pen for some time now using Pelikan green ink.
After some weeks the ink-flow stopped,I rinsed it repeatedly with cold tap-water,no change.
Then I observed white debris (or lime) under the nib.Any explanation?Could it be the ink being not suitable and reacting with the ebonite filling system or lime in tap-water?
I rinsed it again yesterday, this time with destilled water and left it in the water overnight, then filled it with green MB ink today instead of the Pelikan ink,at the moment it works again.
This problem arrive with some inks from certain brands and in certain colors.
I don't know about a grren, what I have seen in diverse occasions are problems with Dunhill's inks.
Necessary to say to is that green ink (much brands) has a great tendance to depose (remember that the pigments are "alone" chimicals products.
Don't react with ebonite.
Hoping to push you to other colors (otherwise, necessary to clean much more)
ink and black-blue etc,but never heard of problems with green. Also with my other pens there was no problem, but I admit I always used green MB ink+MB pen, still I can remember a problem with Pelikan green ink+Lamy pen(although no white deposits),so probably You are right.
Still wonder, what's the chemical difference between green and blue ink?
