Hi Jack,
it was inspiring hearing about your 149 experiences and the service you received.
Here in Europe, I think MB is getting better too. Unfortunately I was unable to locate my original booklet/invoice so I also had to pay a substantial sum for the repairs, and as I mentioned last time it was way too wet after having it's "guts" replaced by the factory (happily they respected my wishes not to touch my Mottishaw'ed nib
I sent it back again and asked for them to reduce the flow, they readjusted it. I tried it the other day while in a meeting. Nice! It works! Not too wet. Not as nice as when I got it back from John, but I don't know enough about pens to start tinkering to make it perfect.
30 minutes into the meeting it starts flooding the page again. Hmmm. I keep writing, it dries up a bit and is usable for another page. Then heavy flow again. Oh well.
I've returned it again, and am quite sure we'll get it (w)right in one of the next few attempts
I have to admire the fact that they are indeed trying their best (and at no charge now).
Lastly, your pen appears to write beautifully. The line in your scan is wonderful. Is this a stock nib, or has it been past John? Mine has been unusable since I got it new as a gift in Genéve around 10 years ago, and ended up living in the back of a drawer. Maybe there is a high degree of variation between samples?
