Hello, I just purchased a pen from a friend of a friend who claims this mont blanc pen is real. I am not convinced. I have attached pics below. Can anyone please tell me if this pen is even a part of the MB collection... if so, what is the name? And most importantly if it is real?

few notes:
1. the treaded part of the pen (that screws into the bottom is made of plastic)
2. there is a number "6" lightly embossed on the underside of the clip
3. the refill cartridge says "mont blanc, made in germany" and the number "103" on the top end
4. the bottom end of the pen refill is the same color as the ink

please see pics for more information. thank you.

Have you considered taking it to a local AD/Boutique to verify it?

MontBlanc pen

December 7 2010, 5:51 AM

Dear Tony
like the swiss watch industry ( after the Japanese invented quarz watches ) Montblanc in the late seventies / early eighties was in touble . The had given up handcrafted products to a great proportion and produced low-end ,high volume mass-produced pens .Strategic repositioning ( handcrafted products only ) started in early 1990's Your pen is from the early eightees period and production . It is a real MontBlanc but unfortunately has no collector value .
regards Norbert
