Thanks patrick for a glimpse of a different world.
My first and last flight with LUFTHANSA was Tokyo to Frankfurt in ordinary Business class. Those were the days when I flew so much that I had top frequent flyer status on both OneWorld and Star Alliance, so I was a little bit experienced to judge service standards.
As we boarded, a huge Lufthansa stewardess shouted at me (clearly thinking that I was a Japanese tourist and that shouting made me understand her accented English better) to hand my own coat up in the front locker and place my hand baggage there too. I am actually British, though of oriental lineage, so maybe that fooled her. I wonder if LUFTHANSA staff only shout at "Japanese"-looking people?
I wouldn't know as I've never flown LUFTHANSA again........
All the free-flow Johnny Walker Blue Label in the world wouldn't make a difference to my decision.
