The ugliest building in the world (photo)

May 4 2007, 9:19 PM

Salman,

Thanks for the photo-tour of the Gulf Road.
I see that Chopard is doing well in Kuwait.

I have a contender for the ugliest building in the world - in Tokyo:

That's built in the 'Metabolism' style...

March 31 2009, 9:28 AM

common in the 70s-80s in Japan, notably, by Kenzo Tange and a few others.

Building units can be added or removed according to need, and there is always a mainframe which provides the necessary infrastructure for these add/drop units. Hence the 'lego' like little rooms and a 'frame' like structure where they are all attached into. This is all in theory. In practice, they built them so they embody these ideals.

Most 'ugly'? I don't think so. But ugly as a metabolist building, perhaps. I have seen better.

Re: Thank you for a rare look at Kuwait

As conveyed in the pictures, the buildings and "feel" seem to be very reminiscent of Abu Dhabi and certain parts of Dubai.

What a beautifull country. You must be so proud of it.I'll have to see if I can manage the same when I borrow my daughters camera.
Really enjoyed our chat last night. I like the way you have your views, but respect that others may not feel the same. It took me a while to get to sleep, I kept thinking about it all.Your attitude to women is so refreshing. Look forward to the start of March.xx

Hi Salman,
Hope everything is going well my friend. Thanks for the beautiful pics of Kuwait. It brings back very fond memories of our trip last year. The beachfront BK and KFC is unbelievable even after seeing it in person!

I remember you trying to tell me about this building and I didn't realize at the time, it's a very interesting project and is being developed by Commercial Real Estate Co. in Kuwait, I have alot of friends working there and they told me that its the only project they know in the world where the building is twisting at a 45 degree angle happy.gif

Your Office Building is the nicest!

February 26 2009, 11:55 PM

Very nice office building.

Kuwait seems like a very beautiful and modern place to live. A good percentage of dark coloured cars, this is surprising as I thought white was the norm for desert climates.

I hope to be able to visit Kuwait sometime.
