First of all, love my Panerai watches! I'm retired
and don't need one of those fancy, equation of time,
split seconds or sunrise-sunset watches. Pams: plain
simple, lots of history (perfect for letting me know
how many minutes before the Viagra kicks in!)
My suggestion for the next person that wants to sell
his 195...... Sell it for $10,000 keep $5000.00
Give the remaining five thousand to a strap company
to produce fifty limited edition straps, for a contest.
Example below of a beautiful Europelli strap that I
Photoshopped (red, white and green stitching to honour
the Italian flag!) Don't know if it could be done,
just a suggestion.
The contest could be simple. Open to Paneristi, who
would E-mail their name to the strap company,(one
entry per person)on a specified date. If 500 enter
every tenth person would get the special strap!
Keep the give-away contest simple. If you wake up
on the specified date A... and see your reflection
in the mirror B... plan on wearing a Pam that day
C... haven't been abducted by aliens for at least two
years, then enter.
Hopefully the Panerai company will see that this is
a win-win solution for everyone and will allow (just
this once) the new owner of the 195 to send it in and
have his or her name engraved on a new back!
