straps. Panerai UK advised that I need to travel into London to an authorised agent, but I am trying to avoid that journey as work commitments do not allow the time.

Many thanks

Michael

PAV 99 with DIY polished buckle instead of the PVD finish...

January 24 2005, 6:37 AM

As I do not wear this strap with a PVD watch I polished it myself

Get lots of mail: This is how I did it....

January 24 2005, 9:22 AM

sort of:

First I protected the strap with masking tape, very thoroughly.
Then used sanding paper, starting with 600 ending with 2000. (perhaps could be less then 2000).
Then the Dremel felt tool, I think it is called, with polishing paste. After that a hand polish with Cape Cod. Do not think that last one is necessary if you know your Dremel.

The nicest thing about this job is that the PVD remains in the lettering, thus making it very nicely visible.

Good luck.

PS No, I do not want to sell it, sorry.

Regards,
Gerard from Holland

That's some great work. The amount of effort you took shows in the fruits of your labour
