LINC RocksOctober 14 2005 at 10:28 AM | Ruby |
| HI Guys,
I love your station (as do my entire household)! In fact we probably watch more LINC than other stations. Some of your documentaries have been repeated too often though - makes me change channels because I've seen it before.
I realise that you're under staffed, but is there anyway we can get a more reliable programme guide in the Echo or even up on this website - i.e with the times the programmes are going to be on?
Love your work!

Hi Ruby
I wish you locals could convince Linc to stream live on the net so all of us out of area people can watch also. |

| Streaming LINC | October 15 2005, 12:58 PM |
Hi Sydney viewer,
I agree people everywhere should have the privilege of watching LINC. It really is a breath of fresh air in terms of broadcasting content.
Unfortunately LINC appears to be severely under-supported in Lismore (by the City Council and local businesses who could be really using it). Any government grants for audio-visual production for the North-Coast region seem to go to bullying big-clout film-makers in Byron Bay -which leaves the innovative grassroots groups in Lismore, like LINC, starved of funding and opportunity.
The fact that it's been broadcasting continuously and boosting local video production this year is a testiment to volunteer hours and hard work of the new board of LINC, and Mark Jago.
It's apparently looking at doing a programme exchange with a community satellite channel so that you guys in Sydney could watch half an hour a week from LINC, but I guess if it had the funds it would do web-streaming as well.
One day this region will wake up to its assets!!

If you guys web-streamed we could see you in the States! I might get so interested I might come and visit. Isn't that worth it to your local economy? (probably not I'm not that rich, but others might be).
Is there no big business guys around who can help? I'd like to see some of that stuff on your playlist.

| Live Streaming Linc Community Television | October 16 2005, 3:27 PM |
Hi everyone
None of all the Community TV stations in Australia are Live Streaming there Stations yet, we are pretty backward down here in Australia, local businesses simple won't assist in running the servers expences.
However some non-profit computer clubs and individuals located within the terrestrial viewing area do apparently stream their local CTV station from the off air transmission, using club servers or members servers.
Ofcourse this is not generally publicised, you have to be in the know to obtain the serviers port and ID. Sorry I have no further details.
If there is anyone in Lismore Linc local viewing area you might like to set up an off air server on your home computer or on a commerical server hosting service so the world can watch Linc.

| LINC Awareness Week | October 28 2005, 7:49 PM |
Hi there,
I think you LINCers should have an awareness campaign. You seem to have a strong cult following at the moment (including me and my mates) - but that's not going to bring in the sponsors I imagine - and a lot of long-term Lismorons don't know you exist (or that you're back on air).
Please tell people that your around and get more people tuned in.
