"the only one that counts" - total nonsense, check the rules Monica 18-10

Had every intention of dropping this tired topic and fully understand it's about impossible to educate or persuade the willfully ignorant. Nonetheless.....

If Wrestler A has defeated Wrestler B (tech fall, decision, pin) but the referee, at the conclusion of the contest, erroneously raises the hand of wrestler B, which wrestler is recorded as the winner? The rules, as anyone would predict, specify that Wrestler A is recognized as the winner. Why would anyone want it to be otherwise?

There are videos on the internet where this has occurred, and victory was rightfully awarded. It would be unfair as well as stupid to deprive an athlete of a win because of the carelessness of an official.

The rules are what they are, not necessarily what a person would find convenient in a particular situation. One hopes statistical chris is a little more aware of what is going on when he is compiling all those helpful numbers.

Anyway, the written words are easily found on the website (and have greater clarity than what one hears during the interview) and it's foolish to try to wish them away. Monica 18-10. Can't change it by wishing.
