Unquestionably, it would have taken a great amount of enthusiasm for the sport of wrestling and plenty of devoted work in practice to enable a high school wrestler (female or male) to achieve more than 100 victories over male opponents...as Kelly Golek did.
There was a number of her match videos on the internet and she appeared poised and aggressive and thoroughly capable. No doubt a challenge for a fellow to wrestle her - and probably a few faced her more than once.
Wonder in what proportion of her victories did she pin her opponent - likely a high proportion. At the collegiate level women (unlike college men) wrestle in the freestyle format. In freestyle pins appear to occur less frequently. The wrestler are upright a comparatively large proportion of the time - pushing, maneuvering, gripping. Less time devoted to wrestling on the mat - official stands them up quickly. Could take a while for a high school wrestler to adjust to freestyle.
