Michaela Hutchison to compete in men's college match
Michaela Hutchison of Oklahoma City University fell 17-2 in a technical fall in her debut with the OCU mens wrestling team, but the Stars prevailed 36-11 over Neosho County (Kan.) on Wednesday at the Neosho County Gym.
Hutchison, a freshman from Soldotna, Alaska, lost to Alex Gorton in becoming the first woman to wrestle for an Oklahoma college team. Hutchison joined Sara McMann, Patricia Miranda and Audrey Pang as women who have wrestled collegiately against men.

Patricia Miranda
If everything goes according to plan, the 105-pound wrestler might do that in Athens this summer, making history in the process. Women's wrestling is the only new sport added to the Games this year, and with a growing collection of international medals around Miranda's neck, the 24-year-old from Saratoga is one of the most promising Olympic hopefuls on the mat today.
Growing up on the Peninsula, there were no girls wrestling teams for Miranda to join, so she perfected her snap-downs and headlocks on boys. She was the first woman on the Stanford wrestling team, where she grappled for five years (!) and beat a man just once.

Explain to me, how it is possible to pin opponent having "lower centre of gravity"?
If you will see at wrestling fights you will see that overwhelming part of time they pass in parterre (on a knees).

< There is also interplay of biology and culture. Recently, strength and conditioning training have been precipitated by womens participation in sports. Women are stronger now than they were 20 or 30 years ago.">

JERUSALEM Young women who are drafted into the Israeli military will be barred from most combat duties because of a medical study that has determined they are, after all, the weaker sex.

The study also determined that men could be trained on marches of up to 55 miles, but that marches of more than 32 miles were too arduous for women.
The study, carried out at the request of the General Staff, found that the amount of oxygen-carrying hemoglobin in women's blood was more than 10 percent lower than in men's blood, limiting their ability to undertake extended physical efforts. <...>
