Tall Ships @ WHITEHAVEN

by Sean Duffy

Hi,

Please forgive me for posting, but I thought that some of you may be interested.

Whitehaven is a small town on the North West coast of England. The town once held the status of being the third largest port in the United Kingdom.

The port was orginially constructed in the early 1600's and was added to and extended.

Whitehaven is a Georgian town and is one of the premier tourist destinations in the beautiful Lake District.

For a period of ONE MONTH, from the 20th of June 2002, berthed in Whitehaven will be tall ships from the Square Sail fleet. If you haven't seen Whitehaven - or the Lake District - I would urge you to visit and experience the beauty of these ships in a unique setting.
