My parents told me they used to do the same thing back in the 50's. The Selah school used to use the ski bowl for their 6th grade camp during the 70's and I was a camp counselor there. We slept in big canvas tents and used the lodge only for meals. In the early 80's I went up a couple times with some friends to go sledding and snowmobiling. Back then the lodge was still open all times for public use.
I hope to make a trip back to the skibowl soon for some more updated photo's. BTW, your name sounds familiar. You wern't by chance a teacher at Selah were you?
