Response to Home Canyon

Several times I biked that canyon from, what is it, Montpelier toward Border, Wyo. I looked in Home Canyon itself and went up it a few miles. All the slopes seemed to be either east or west facing and pretty rocky. The most skiable terrain seemed to be in the main canyon itself, toward or just on the west side of Geneva Summit. I asked at the tourist information center in Montpelier and they did not know anything about it.

I forgot to mention another place in Idaho: Soda Springs. I have an old road map of Idaho and it shows a ski area there. I went looking for it one winter and saw some suitable looking north facing slopes just south of town, but nothing in particular that looked like a ski area. I'm thinking any sort of slope cut out there would be fairly recognizable.

And there is another I remember ... I think it was called Caribou, and it was in suburban Pocatello (not to be confused with Skyline/Pomerelle). It was in a wooded area east of town and I could see the lift cut but it had become a housing area.
