I can't get my furniture, etc, to deploy...so how am i gonna get an upgrade???! Any ideas? please help.

Welcome to SST.

First please confirm that you are in the correct room, meaning that the room code to the right of your PET matches the stored room code in your PET that Marsinta gave you. The lift number, floor number and room number must all match.

If they match, all you need do is to select an item of furniture by its icon in your PET and then press the PET's switch alongside of it. This will either deploy or stow the selected item.

As you will soon discover, what you choose to use, to not use, and the order in which you select them is fairly important. This link may help you in that task.

Maybe you should check the layout on the box your game came in?

SST has been re-issued a couple of times lately, and the box art has changed somewhat since the luxuriously equipped editions which you and I enjoyed. Last I saw, "the box" was a little plastic slipper just big enough for the three CDs and the PET instruction leaflet. True there were the original screenshot pictures on the artwork outside the slipper, but it was tiny and hidden under the protective plastic sleeve.

Do you remember when publishers used to re-issue things to make them better? Those days have gone now. Now they do it to cheapen the product until it's too bad for people to buy.
