Argento's Phantom of the Operaby some guy?
I just watched the DVD and it is awfully weird. It is a great film with excellent cinematography. The costumes and set design are brilliant. But it lacks in the Argento style. It is like a film made by a different director. It doesn't even share the same low budget sense an Italian horror film possess. It was sick when they were at that strip joint in Paris. It is about average on gore but gore isn't everything. The film can stand up on its own on its own boundaries. I just love the lighting and the classic effect and look it has. Over all I saw 4 1/2 out if 5 stars. It would be a perfect five if it was more like an original Argento work. Posted on Jan 20, 2000, 6:08 PMRespond to this message
