The Extreme Ultimate Horror Board

A message board dedicated to the discussion of Horror Films, as well as a place for Horror fans to meet, make friends and trade information. Use it often, visit as much as you like and be sure that you will NOT be censored on here - ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JOIN THE HORROR ELITE by going to http://network54.com/Hide/Group/6243 and following the directions. Once you have become a member of The Horror Elite, you can post here. You then do NOT have to post your e-mail. Your real name is also NOT required, many people use nicknames - but feel free to use your real name if you want, as it makes it easier for us to all get to know one another. I want this to be a place where people can be free and be themselves WITHOUT FEAR of being insulted and ridiculed. Horror fans are always slammed and snickered at and told to "grow up" or "get a life" and they are many times treated bad from their peers. They are made fun of and tormented for who they are. NOT HERE. They can feel at ease in being the real person inside. I am not here to judge and I will not allow others to do this. I want all people posting here to be free and know that they can be real and post anything without fear of retribution.

Movie recommendations

You all HAVE to see The Dead Hate the Living! Its good ol fashioned horror, complete with gore, thats available at Shitbuster! er....blockbuster. Dave Parker (who frequents AOL horror chats) directed it and Penis Flytrap did the music (i happen to know this band Todd, and they want to do music for you.) It was pretty fun, even though it is heavily inspired by the Beyond.

Last Broadcast is an interesting (if slow) one you should check out. I got the DVD for 15 bucks. Blair Witch ripped it off but theyre two pretty different movies. Its a little more interesting, i recomend it. Once again though, ITS NOT REAL!

oooh Ehren the Aryan, you make my blood boil

by

I saw The Dead Hate The Living months ago, it does rule! A good old fashioned zombie movie, with its own clever twists. I've also known Lucifer from Penis Flytrap and his ghoul Cassandra (aka Gutmunch), they both kick mucho grande assaroony. I've missed too many PFT concerts, if I miss one more they will most likely disembowel me and eat my innards for breakfast. Cool!

The Lst Broadcast was cool too, I thought it was so much better than The Blair Witch Project ( what *isn't?* ), and it's all too evident that BWP is a clear rip off of both Last Broadcast and Cannibal Holocaust. Put the two together, and it's exactly what you get. But back to TLB. It had more of an interesting premise, especially the part about the psychic being arrested for their murders, but mysteriously dying in prison. Oops, did I give away too much? No? Keep going? Ok... The plot point about two of the guys having a cable access paranormal show was really cool too. All in all, The Last Broadcast deserves more attention then BWP, but alas, this will never happen, because it's BETTER Muahahaha

Last Broadcast was so boreing. The only reason they recieved coverage by anyone is because they claimed that the Blar Witch Project copied off of them. Who cares they both suck anyways! And Dead hate the living claims to be this and cliams to be that, it is nothing more then just a bunch of ravings about Fulci and a bunch of commercialism. They talk about Blackest Heart, they talk about Cannibal Ferox, they talk about Gino De Rossi who can also do a million times better effects then they can. And Fulci was a great director but not a God, you can't analize him as if he cured the blind or some fucked up shit like that. Dead hate the living was like the ultimate Horror Commericial, i paid money to rent a movie not a coming attractions video. Full Moon sucks anyways, i mean if your looking for something good with lots of potential and kick ass effects look for Extrememe Entertainment or Troma!

When i said Dead Hate the Living was gory, notice i also mentioned i found it at blockbuster. How many NEW lowbudget horror flicks get found at blockbuster? slim to NONE asshole. And whats this bullshit about commercialism?! It was a movie with many REFERENCES to other directors, whoopty shit! It was entertaining, and if you were a real horror fan youd probably enjoy the injokes, and references to other horror flicks. All i did is reccomend 2 motherfuckin movies, i never said they were Evil Dead rivaling, i just said check them out. No reason for you to be high and mighty dickhead and act like you know all. I was just recommending for anyones benefit, if you didnt like the movies IGNORE MY MESSAGE!

more Nailhead raves and rants

by

Ehren, you're trying to talk sense with human beings (if we can even call them that) that probably still need their mother to wipe their ass for them. Dead Hate The Living containing commercialism?! HA! I laugh because the feeble mind that type that up was probably listening to the new Kid Rock cd, adorned in his backwards red hat, 10 sizes too big blue jeans, football jersey, gold chain necklaces and wrist bracelets, and $600 Nike's. If you think the references contained in TDHTL were commercialism then you obviously can't even get your half-a-brain to work right. There is an extremely thick line between homage references and commercialism, and to think that line was crossed in Dead Hate The Living is not only amusing, but I pity the poor fool who came to that assumption. Nobody here said that The Dead Hate The Living, or The Last Broadcast (which makes BWP look like the shit it truely is), were grade A films. DHTL was an enjoyable, and original, zombie epic, whereas The Last Broadcast was again an enjoyable and original horror film. Not one time have I heard anyone on this board praise them as Academy Award material, so get over it. Go, be the first in line for the new shit humor-wannabe horror Scary Movie. Which brings me to another point...

Has anyone noticed how the parodies always break out at the end of each film-trend cycle? Happened with 70's disaster movies when Airplane came out, and with the John Hughes'-esque teen comedies when the Gen X craze hit, so thank the dark lord that this teeny bopping horror craze is FINALLY meeting its demise. I have never seen so much recycled bullshit in any genre (besides hip hop music) of anything at all. Todd Sheets will reign supreme in the wake of this current horror apocalypse. And I totally believe that Todd is on the verge of getting his huge break, the one thing that will take his name from the cult status it as at, and propel it up alongside such greats as Carpenter, Raimi, (old school) Craven, and Hooper. A long overdue, and much deserved, honor for Mr. Sheets. And it's up to us fans and colleagues of Todd's to get it started!

Lakers rule!! I love salads with those itty bitty chunks of cheese in em.

Hola everyone, i once again have a movie recommendation. Day of the Beast, fuckin GREAT! If you havent seen this film go rent it! A priest uncovers the date of the Apocalypse, and must sin as much as he can to earn Satans trust, then sell his soul to Satan in order to get close enough to destroy the Antichrist at birth. Enlisting the help of a satanic metalhead and a TV show occultist, Father Angel hunts the city trying to find the Antichrist. An AWESOME comedy/horror flick. Highly recomended. Dubbed in English.

Todd, i also got Moonchild for 5.99 at Hollywood at Home, i need you to sign it for me. Havent watched it yet, cant wait! Also, when is a Descension cd gonna be available? Cant wait! The band pics look awesome, HAIL!

Ed Wood Ate My Brain

by

Well, maybe he didn't, really, but he certainly "fried" at least one young
brain...read how in "Ed Wood Ate My Brain" in the June issue of HORROR-WOOD
Webzine, just published on the World Weird Web! Many fans love the
"Creature From The Black Lagoon." Now, you can read about life inside the
Gill Man suit in "The Creature Speaks." Summer is here, and in addition to
hot dogs and sunblock, another staple is beach movies...we cover a
"horrible" one in "The Horror Of Watching "Party Beach."" The first Dr.
Phibes flick was a horror fan's treat--so what happened with the sequel?
Read about it in "Love Means Never Having To Say You're Ugly." At one time,
your local theater might have featured some pretty "scary" stars. Read
about it in "Meeting Myrna, Dracula, And The Joker." Finally, if you've
ever wondered what was making that scary sound in those classic sci-fi and
horror films, you'll finally get the lowdown in "What That Frightening
Sound?". Meanwhile, little John-John is of two minds concerning "The Thing
With Two Heads." All this, plus a new DVD review column, monster
memorabilia collecting column, and the latest horror headlines from "The
HORROR-WOOD Reporter," and more! All in HORROR-WOOD for June. Just creep,
crawl, or squirm on over to:
http://www.horror-wood.com
and let 'em know Renfield sent you. Cheers!

I know what you mean, Halloween VI would have so much darker and evil had the Producer's Cut been the one that was released. I've talked to Daniel Farrans on numerous occasions about his original script for H6, the man is a genius. It's too bad his script was butchered the incompetent director whose name is not even worth mentioning.

I'd love to see the Halloween series return to being an anthology series, like it was with Halloween III. A new horror story set around the holiday Halloween every year. That would be cool. But no, they have to milk the damn thing for all it's worth by putting out H2K next year. Damn it!

What did eveyone think of Mattei's "Night Of The Zombies"? And what is everyones top 5 Zom

by Wormface

Why does everyone think this movie is a ripoff of Dawn Of The Dead? Its a great Zombie flick in my opinion....I think you would have to be a die hard Zombie movie fan to watch it though.

Here is my Top 5:
1. Zombie
2. The Beyond
3. Gates Of Hell
4. Zombie Holocaust
5. Dawn Of The Dead

Top 5 Zombie movies

by

My top 5 Zombie films are:

1. Romero's Living Dead Trilogy (cant pick just one!)
2. Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE
3. The Dead Next Door
4. Return Of The Living Dead
5. Dr Butcher, MD

I know that the last one is more of a mad scientist/cannibal horror film, but I'll always love the zombies the best. And I also wonder, why does everyone consider The Gates Of Hell a zombie film? Dont get me wrong, its one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time, but I just dont see it as a zombie flick, its more of a demonic Hell epic. HoOoHoOo... The Reverend has spoken.

I know Demons 1 and 2 don't really qualify as zombie movies but they were pretty damned good. I liked the fact that, unlike traditional living dead, the demons were fast and a mere scratch from their fingernails could infect you.

I think my list is a little different from most:

1. Re-Animator
2. Evil Dead
3. Dead/Alive
4. Cemetary Man
5. The Beyond

I enjoyed DotD to a certain extent, but I don't understand the praise lavished upon it... c'mon, even Leonard Maltin dug Dawn. What's so special about it? I thought the acting was decent and the FX were pretty good (not phenomenal), but nothing about it screamed CLASSIC to me.

I think it's just the feeling you get from watching it. It's such a desolate, apocalyptic feeling. I've always had fantasies of the world being overrun by the living dead so I could run around blowing their asses away. Watching 'Dawn of the Dead' was like living it out, as much as possible. I have found the future of Horror

by

After viewing this page numerous times, I ordered the films from Amazon.com. I got them and had a huge marathon and I must say that you, Mr. Sheets, exhibit more talent, style and love for Horror in your films than most I have seen in the past five years! I loved them. I could see the growth between each film, and I must say that you keep getting better. You have probably heard this before, but I consider you to be a brilliant visionary of the Horror genre. The rest of you on here that claim to work with this man, thank you also for helping him see his vision. You are all making people out here very happy, entertaining us and bringing us real Horror movies again.

Thank you all.

I'm ending the feud right now

by

Ok, first of all, nothing that I posted was bullshit. Bill said those things when he felt the need to IM me labeling me a "bigot nazi scum". I never directly stated Bill was on the board, I said anyone who uses the word faggot is. If Bill wants to use that word, then so be it. That doesn't change the fact that I think anyone who uses it is scum. It clearly indicates that whomever chooses to label someone in a derogatory manner because of their own personal choices is uneducated and desperately looking to inflict pain upon others for whatever sick pleasure they derive from it. Bill chose to take what I said as a personal attack against himself, and thus suffered the consequences. Any of you who know me, know that I am extremely anti-fascist, and from the backlash that I received from Bill, that bothers him. Second of all, and all I am going to say about it is this, those who are innocent are not quick to prove so. If you didn't do it, the accusation shouldn't bother you. The little snippets from our conversation that I posted were not doctored, anyone who feels the need to read the entire conversation can just ask me, I have it saved. I don't have the time, or the level of immaturity, to fake a conversation that would take 20 minutes to read. I'm also not the one insulting peoples mother, girlfriend, and sexual preference. I will be the first to admit I said a few things I shouldn't have, but even I have my limits. The entire conversation began with him sending me an Instant Message saying "Hey bigot nazi scum". So claiming that I started the whole thing is outrageous, even considering my comment that he claims was the flame that lit the fire was not even directed towards him. Although anyone who takes it that way obviously has something to hide...

I was almost sure that this had ended, but it's obvious that whenever Bill is feeling insecure about himself he crawls out of the woodwork to try and start a feud with whomever he can to make himself feel superior, when in fact he makes himself look like an ignorant, sniveling swine. It just so happens that I am his target each and every time. I'm sick and tired of these childish situations that are continuously twisted around to make it look like I am the villain. As I said before, I did say some things that were out of hand, but anyone with a brain will realize that this was not started by me, nor was it stretched on for as long as it was by me. I could really care less if anyone thinks differently of me after this, because it would obviously show that you didnt think too highly of me to begin with. Im not afraid that these continuous attacks will turn others against me, I am just sick to death of them. They are nothing but a nuisance. I apologize to anyone who thinks I may have carried it out here on the board, if you see it that way then that was not my intention. By posting what he said to me, I merely strived to show that he is continuing his racist slander by spewing it out at me. He purposely contacted me to do so, then tried to make himself look "big and bad" by claiming that I am a "communist pig" and a "nazi". Even though anyone with a brain would be able to discern the two from each other, knowing that communism and nazism are two entirely seperate belief systems.

All in all, my message now is believe what you want, but to reach a solid opinion you have to review all of the facts. I am not attempting to drag this thing on and on, this message is to try and put an end to it. I know that Todd will most likely delete all of the aforementioned messages, and maybe this one too, and he has perfect reason to do so. All I want you, Todd, and everyone else to know, is that I have not once been a "bigot nazi scum", nor am I a "communist pig". I believe in freedom for all, but the one thing I can and will not tolerate is derogatory remarks directed towards one or more individuals because of personal choices they make that are no ones business but their own. Fascism ranks right up there with rape. They are both vile, disgusting things that have no place in society, let alone in existence.

Hate speech isn't covered under freedom of speech

by

While you may not be a Nazi (an oft-misused insult), you are obviously a hate-filled bigot. As some of Todd's films deal with homosexuals in a positive (or at least non-negative) light, I don't see why you would think this was the place for your shameful venom.

In short: this is a board for open-minded fans of horror - not close-minded assholes who think that "horror corrupts youth," that "gore is sick," or even that "homos are [not] part of God's creation."

"I am in no way secure" - that much is obvious.

Blake (Tall Blake, hehe)i have no Beef with you but I am not a hate filled bigot just because you got that feeling by your interpretation of my post. Although we have only met once or twice at a Catacombs shoot you still don't know me and should not judge me on my thoughts on society or the world in general. The post about thinking homos getting their asses beaten up is fucking funny has nothing to do with like or disliking them, but for the record i am not one or will ever be one. I accept the fact that I may of pissed people off by my use of words but I as much as everyone else want all this bitch bickering to stop. Now like you said this is a horror board and if i post a message about a film in general or something i don't see any harm in that. And If i track away from the subject for a sec it wasn't on purpose.

Now back to horror for a moment, I was wandering if any one knows where i can find an actually copy of make them die slowly, when i say that i mean a version that has the different music and the different beggining...if you can help in any way, thankyou.

How the hell did this debate even get started? All I have to say is that being phobic of anything is a weakness. I do not find homophobia to be a very good thing. There are times that I get sick of seeing Hollywood throw in the requisite "gay character" nowadays, because they seem to only do it to keep the gay rights groups satisfied (or should that be pacified?), but like Blake said, in Shivers there is a gay bouncer character and two lesbian characters. I added them because they added depth, and a different perspective, not because I felt I needed to add them just so I could hit all the audience groups. Hollywood has lost focus... and that is my only complaint ever. I have never had any problem with a person having their own beliefs and preferences. I am not gay, never even considered it, but I refuse to dislike someone who is just because that is what they choose. To do so will only keep our minds closed and our hearts cold. We must support all Horror fans, all Horror artists and all actors and actresses who work in Horror to ensure the strength of this genre we love, no matter who they sleep with. Clive Barker is gay... People who worked on ZB3 are gay... people YOU worked with Bill... it didn't matter then... and it shouldn't matter now!

by Bill

I just go wild over the way you make things up and get people to be pissed off at me, all you have to do is look up a few posts and it shows how you started the whole thing. Then you try to change everything and make it look like your the good guy just because your in denial.

First off all Fight Club kicked Ass! And second of all I can say what ever the fuck i want and you have no room to be sterotyping people. Now before this damn things turns into a big argument it clearly shows that you started it by calling me a Bigot and Nazi Scum...so why don't you take your Nazi ass and go to Cuba with Alian Gonzalez and his father. This Board is Dead!

by

I bet that once Todd starts to work on his next film this board wont be so dead. I recently discovered a show on HBO that completely kicks ass! It is called Oz and it is about a bunch of dudes in prison. I just love to see those faggot inmates get beaten up by the normal more civilized jail birds! Hehe

When i was at blockbuster the other day I rented this movie which i thought was going to be totally stupid but it kicked so much fucking ass, i say it is the best film of its genre in 99. FIGHT motherfucking CLUB. If you havn't seen it, you suck, and you should rent it.

Last night on BET movies they had Dolemite on and i laughed my ass off on how horrible the acting is. But it is entertaining, one thing i noticed is how they get the same mobsters to play in all thease films. I reconized some of those guys in there from Black Belt Jones which is another kick ass movie. One last thing, in Black Belt Jones which stars Jim Kelly from Enter the Dragon, there is a picture of Bruce Lee in their Dojo. I thought that was kinda humerous, plus they were both by the same director.

ANCHOR BAY KICKS ASS!!!

by Ron

I'm so happy that Anchor Bay Entertainment has been giving horror fans neglected gems on dvd. This month is enough to make a jaded horror fan salivate..."Possession", "Vampyres",
"City of the Living Dead", "Anguish", "The Blood Spattered Bride"...if that isn't enough to wet your appetite, they're releasing newly remastered versions of "Hellraiser", "Hellraiser 2", "Evil Dead 1", "Evil Dead 2", "Martin", "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie" and "The Beyond"!!! Thanks Anchor Bay for treating horror films and their fans with respect.

My 10 Movie List/A Truly Horrible Film

by

Hey All! Here's my 10, 10 films I really love and that I think kick major ass:

Motel Hell(All time fave! Seen it over 100-125 times! No kidding!)

Black Roses(True cheese classic directed by John Fasano, one of my fave directors! They use a song by my fave band Lizzy Borden in the beginning of the movie!)

Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare(Again, directed by Fasano! great music and a true cheese classic! Seen it about 10 times or more!)

Monster Dog(Alice Cooper! Love the video in the beginning!)

Gates Of Hell(Maybe someday there'll be an uncut version with EVERY SINGLE SCENE intact, nothing left out!)

Slaughterhouse(The Uncut version on DVD kicks ass! You gotta get the DVD! It's got extras up the ass!)

Neon Maniacs(Gotta see this! What a great movie! I love it, and have seen it a few times!)

Dawn Of The Dead(Classic! Enough said.....)

Silent Night, Deadly Night(Man oh man, do I love this movie......)

Christmas Evil(Another great classic that you gotta see!)

House(Loved this movie since I was a kid!)

A movie that truly sucks a donkey's balls is Hard Rock Zombies. They should've shot the director, she was high on crack making this stinking shitbag! Whoever rents this fucking shit is doomed!

Dr. Moreau Meets Mamie Van Doren...

by

Well, no, not really...but both of them do appear in the May issue of
HORROR-WOOD Webzine, just published on the World Weird Web. First off, we
experience a bad film festival worker's plight in having to view the films
involved in "Braving Hillbillies, Night Monsters, And Mamie." We then take
a look at the animals-into-men misdeeds of a classic mad scientist in "Dr.
Moueau, I Presume?" Question: Why has Hollywood made multiple movies about
human-sized flies? Answer: Find out in "The Buzz On "Fly" Flicks." Next,
we uncover a "lost" cache of almost-made "teenage horror" flicks that even
American International Pictures refused to finish in "I Was A "Lost" AIP
Teenage Horror Flick." You won't believe your eyes! Finally, we host a
Dario Argento Double Feature--"Deep Red" is dissected in "The Evil That
Women Do" and "Suspiria" is X-rayed in "Schoolgirls, Shocks, And
"Suspiria."" Meanwhile, little John-John insists he's not half as bad as
the hook-handed kid in "Scream Bloody Murder." There's also new
horror DVDs reviewed in "The Digital Dungeon," the latest horror news in
"The HORROR-WOOD Reporter," and the last word on monster collectibles in
"The Collector's Crypt." All this and new horror film mini-reviews and
Gore-respondence from our readers in the latest issue of HORROR-WOOD. So,
slink, slither, or crawl over to:
http://www.horror-wood.com
and we'll be "lurking" for you. Cheers!

Rob Zombie-Director

by evilarab

Zombie Directs Corpses

Rocker Rob Zombie will finally get his chance to make a film when he directs House of 1,000 Corpses based on his own screenplay.

Zombie was originally set to direct the second Crow sequel, but that deal fell apart before filming could begin. For Corpses, Zombie will design a "walk through maze" for Universal Studios theme parks to help promote the film.

Production on House Of 1,000 Corpses is to begin in April for an early 2001 release.

Rob Zombie, cool guy

by

Rob Zombie (and his previous band, White Zombie) has been one of my favorite rock performers for quite some time. I got the chance to see him live with Korn in 98. He incorporated lots of horror elements into the show, including scenes from various movies and part of the Zombie trailor! After the show, i also had the honor of shaking hands with Rob, he was cool and signed autographs for everyone (i got their late and had to run past security guards to meet him) all in all hes a true horror fan and his flick should be great!

Top 10 Horror Films Thread

by

I've seen people espousing their Top 10 horror film picks in various threads, and I thought it would be a good (okay, a decent) idea to consolidate into one thread. So without further ado, my top 10 horror films:

1. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
The name of the game is "rewatchability." I swear - Crispin Glover, Corey Feldman, Savini FX, Jason's death, and the perfect blend of an 80s slasher film and an 80s teen sex comedy. I could watch it every day. Perfect.

2. Re-Animator
Jeffery Combs kicks much ass. That's about the whole of it. Sure, there are other great things about Re-Animator - but Combs' performance makes the whole film my second favorite. Now that is some acting right there. Stuart Gordon damn well better direct Part 3 (Beyond Re-Animator). Does anyone else have a problem with Brian Yuzna's films? Man needs to get a sense of humor...

3. Evil Dead 2
Speaking of bravura horror performances... it's surprising, but I really value acting in a horror film. Not two things you normally think of as associated, are they? (Acting and horror.) Can't wait for The Gift, can't wait for the Playstation game, can't wait for The Gift, can't wait...

4. John Carpenter's The Thing
Fuck CG. And fuck Rob Bottin for dropping out of directing Freddy vs. Jason (though his idea sounded lame, so I'm torn...)

5. Nightmare on Elm Street 3
It's beautiful... and bad (*snikt*). Most films would've saved the Freddy-snake for the climax - beautiful way to frontload the film. The perfect Freddy, before he got way too damn "funny" in 4.

6. Evil Dead
Anyone else want to see Todd do a "group in a house" movie? No, not The Shivers - that was a "group in a mansion" movie (and therefore shot in like 5 different locations). I'm talking a one location siege movie. Well I do. Oh yeah, Evil Dead rules and stuff.

7. Cemetery Man (Dellamorte Dellamore)
I've finally seen Soavi's first three films, and I have to say - I want to see what he can do after CM/DD, because all the films before bit ass. Why do people like Stagefright/Aquarius so much? But this one... crap, this one's just brilliant. An existential horror film, who the hell came up with that...

8. Dead/Alive
Do I really need to explain? One word, broken down: lawn-mow-er.

9. A Nightmare on Elm Street
Sleep is the enemy, you have no power, and your parents' sins will come back to haunt you. A teen angst mindfuck of the first order.

10. Alien
I was debating over what to put in the number 10 spot, and I really dig this movie. It's really tight, well-constructed and gorgeous to look at (not to mention tense and creepy as all hell.)

Note, these are my favorite 10 horror films, not the 10 I think are the best films. As you can see, I like humor in my horror.

Top Tens and stuff

by

As I sit here surrounded by damn near 5000 movies, I realize I have a strange way of rating these - it's like I have top tens for different things - Lemme give it a shot:

Top Horrors:

1. TIE - Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Evil Dead
Both were ahead of their time and took me by surprise.

2. The Thing - John Carpenter kicks ass!

3. Opera - Argento at his best...

4. TIE - Gates Of Hell and The Beyond - both Fulci classics!

5. The Howling - Joe Dante's awesome werewolf tale

6. An American Werewolf In London - simply incredible!

7. ZOMBIE! Another Fulci classic!

8. TIE - Re-Animator - a classic that I never tire of! and The Fog - a sentimental fave - Carpenter does a good job here with atmosphere!

9. TIE - Dead Alive and Bad Taste - they go hand in hand really!

10. Natural Born Killers - Director's Cut - Wow... Oliver Stone's Horror/action masterpiece really blew me away and still does -

Now here's yet another top 10 - and as you see, it is more focused on the films that really shocked me - that first list is my personal faves for how they entertain me!

1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - brutal for it's time and still a powerhouse!

2. Cannibal Holocaust - like a kick in the nuttage!

3. TIE - Evil Dead and Gates Of Hell - blew me away in theaters!

4. Henry - Portrait of a serial Killer - nuff said

5. Sisters Of Satan - now THAT is a strange one!

6. Cannibal Ferox - talk about shocking!

7. Untold STory - brutal Asian horror

8. Zombie - the splinter scene almost made me lose it

9. Blood Feast - this one was very gross for the year it came out and still is!!!

10. Buried ALive - Joe D'Amato film, original title Blue Holocaust!

I also love Body Snatchers by Abel Ferrarra but I consider it more SCi-Fi.... I have other lists also - but that is all for now....
4. Suspiria - way shocking for it's time!

My Top 10

by

Mine arent in order, im just naming 10 of my favorites and way. I cant really put one before the other, but i will say THIS: In my opinion, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the best horror film ever made. Hands down, most realistic, disturbing, scary, and it doesnt need gore (if it had extreme gore, it would be the ultimate, but like i said it doesnt need it at all)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Kids attacked my cannibals, chainsaws, atmosphere, dark humor, screaming, 70s clothes, its awesome!!

Tenebre: Argento at his best in my opinion (but missing the best thing he ever made- his daughter Asia!) A great storyline, excellent acting, some good gore scenes. An excellent twist ending, this film truly has it all.

Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox: Holocaust is without a doubt the most disturbing movie ever made. I have seen all types of sick shit, but its the ultimate. The film was all the more disturbing from realistic effects and great acting. Fuckin BWP producers ripped it off. Ferox is just as gross, but its campier and i enjoy it throughly.

Zombie: HOLY SHIT. Excellent film. Most realistic looking zombies ever put on film (except for Al Gore)The gore is realistic and disturbing, and the scenery is superb. Fulci made me an instant fan with this one.

Frankenstein: Any of you who dont like the Universal horror can blow me, Boris Karloff and Colin Clive kicked serious ass in this movie. Its excellent.

Slumber Party Massacre: My guilty pleasure, i love 80s slasher. This is one of the better shit films, funny, gory, and the girls get nekkid. The things that made the 80s great!

Evil Dead: I saw AOD, it was funny i guess...then i rented Evil Dead...FUCKIN A!! This is what horror should be! Nonstop, in your face, demons, blood, and Bruce Campbell before he got full of himself. Excellent movie, whew!

Blood Feast: Gore anyone? This was the ORIGINAL gore film. HG Lewis is a genius (and a cool guy) and this film is funny (intentionally?) and rather disturbing for its time. GReat great great

Zombie Bloodbath: I dont know who made this lowbudget epic but the flick rules! (hehe) Me and my friend Dimitri rented this flick for a party and all my friends loved it. Most of em were queasy at the gore, some even headbanged to the music during the zombie attacks. And we were amazed people were making this sick stuff in KANSAS! The ultimate party gore flick. Todd, you rule! Shivers is also among my favorites.

Last House on the Left and I Spit on Your Grave:
I know Todd and Tim hated these flicks, but i dig em. Exploitation at its finest. Both had believable acting (David Hess is forever sleazy! see House on the Edge of the Park for him playing almost the SAME CHARACTER!!) disturbing scenes (fellatio chomp in last house and the bathtub in i spit, yowch!) and are just overall great. I know some wont watch these films for the disturbing rape scenes, but the rapists get what they deserve! I hate rape, and im glad these sickos get whats comin to em.

Those are 10 of my favorites but i have MANY MANY more, email me all.

If looking at rubber pussies getting hacked and having meat pulled out of them is your bag, then go ahead and go there. I find his films stupid and putrid. He seems to have a thing for fake vaginas as he features them in every film. Dumb bastard. Stay in Germany and stop using the various Horror Boards to promote your shit! Why not write to the webmaster at these sites and get linked to them? Because they wouldn't promote that trash!

Regarding this post - and replies thereof...

by

I don't have a problem helping out another director who is actually out there trying to contribute to the Horror genre. Splatter, or whoever you are since you didn't sign your name, I feel that if we at Extreme had a problem we would make it so they couldn't paste links in this board. I agree with Nailhead - but in case people want to know - we will ad a link to the website for anyone that has a true Horror page they want added - but we only update at the beginning of each month, and we don't add it until then. Anyway, Violent Shit was a hoot - my friend Jerry and I truly had fun with it.

One other thing... I didn't see where Mr. Splatter called him or herself a Horror Master but if they did, I do indeed join in your laughter Mr. Bile...hehehe

Keep it gory!

You were a jagoff (i know its jack-off but this sounds better) and tried to act like you own the place. Todd told you off, now i shall. And...well...i have. cool gore films

by

If you liked Zombie and Dawn Of The Dead, then check out Dr. Butcher MD, Cannibal Ferox (aka Make Them Die Slowly), Cannibal Holocaust, any Todd Sheets film, William Lustig's 80s slasher epic MANIAC, damn Im brain dead right now... Ooh, thats another one. Brain Dead, aka Dead Alive. Make sure its the Directors Cut version or the Unrated version or whatever its called, because the regular one is heavily cut and theres not a lot of gore. What else what else... Thats all I can think of right now. I'll leave some suggestions to the others, theyll come up with something.

Bruce kicks so much ass, you'd never know that he's been out of the band for almost 10 years! Old school Maiden at its best.. Cant wait for the new album!

Hey Nailhead...

by

...I never realized you were the one who runs The Saw is Family. Good job (though I'm sure you really don't need me to tell you that). Heads up though - FridayThe13th.com is switching to FridayThe13thFilms.com (we lost the domain but I swear it was NOT MY FAULT!) If you would change that in your links I would be much obliged.

Sorry to hear you won't make it to NIN. Sucks for you. :/

Thanks, I tried to get to yer site the other day but noticed it was down. I'll change the links as soon as I can. Or, maybe I won't, since I'm still bitter because of losing to you in the 2000 Horror Web Awards... hehe j/k. Although, I must confess, after watching Sleepaway Camp for the first time in years, I feel that the original F13 has been knocked off its ass as the all time kick ass camp slasher flick...

You know, I wasn't going to say anything about that...

by

I remembered that your site had been nominated, but...

Over in the Friday chat room we were just discussing the relative merits of SC and F13. While I think SC is a solid slasher, I think it may be a little heavy on the 80's cheese and weirdness. But maybe that gives it an edge that the straightforward F13 doesn't have. I dunno. My favorite is The Final Chapter anyhow, so that tells you about my proclivity for 80's cheese...

Still, SC's "Ah call 'em baldies" is the best line in cinema history.

'nuff said

by

I knew from the beginning my site wasn't going to win that damn award, I was just trying to figure out how the hell my site got there in the first place, hehe

I love all the F13 films, the first four are my favorite though. I just think SC had a much more disturbing quality to it, the most of which seemed to be the directors obsession with camera shots of guys bare bodies... The whole movie is just one big sexually perverted film, which makes it even more powerful, IMHO. I do agree though, that fat ass pedophile had some of the funniest lines..

Final Chapter

by

Final Chapter IS the best in my opinion, good killings, good acting (somewhat), out of the F13s it is above all others.

Man, I take a 3 month hiatus from posting and this message board has gone to shit! I don't know what's going on with this whole "Tim-bashing" thing, but it sure is loathsome to read. Tim, I worked with you on Catacombs, and had an enjoyable time...but it made me ill to see you lash out against Todd. Todd Sheets is wonderful to work with...and I'm sure you'll be hard-pressed to find a more talented writer/director to collaborate with. He's learned his craft the hard way, through trial-and-error, and has absorbed and transcended many obstacles along the way. There's only room for his vision to start gaining exposure, and we're in the fortunate position of helping to reveal the artistry of Todd Sheets to more and more people. As a fellow actor, I must ask you to appreciate the opportunities that have come your way (just think what you were doing a year ago, two years ago, etc). If you work hard and remain humble, you will find many doors waiting to be opened and many less being slammed in your face. As long as you can convey a sense of integrity, I'll be looking very forward to working with you on future sets. If you bother to read this at all, I hope that you don't regard my message as an insult or a negative affront.
On a lighter note, Todd, I'm itching to work again. This constant routine of school and work has been forcing me to feel "out of character". I'm dying for summer to get here. And Blake, I hope your script for VNB-2 is finishing up nicely, I have full confidence that it will be a masterpiece.

Hey Phil

by Bill

I was flipping through the channels and I saw a movie with that Don The Dragon Wilson dude who is a BIG fucking rip off of Bruce Lee, and I noticed that you look almost identical to him! It was so fucking weird. And I was wandering if you still have my lighter? I lent you those black and milds and my lighter, then you took off with them...if you don't have it, don't bother i got a new one. And try smoking phillies blunts, they are excellent, and Gold and Milds.

On another note i was at a flea market looking for an original thriller video release of Make them Die Slowly and Insted I found a bunch of brand new Todd Sheets films in plastic being sold for $25. One of them was Moonchild. It seems odd, although I am not fluent in what the laws are I sense something fishy about that, I am not saying that they are hot but their over pricing your movies and your not geting a penny of it, i am not even sure if englewood is either. And for this Tim thing I don't want to get involved in it. I leave that up to everyone else.

Hey Bill,
I don't remember taking your lighter, but I'll take your word for it...I'm sure it's changed hands a few more times...hopefully it wound up in the hands of some street wino who was able to use it for heat this winter. I'm not really a connisseur of cheap cigars, but I'll take your word on those, too. See you this summer.

Jesus H. Balls, Phil, way to freak me out with expectations... @_@

Anyhow, it's looking like it will be a while before we shoot VNB2 - but all the better, it'll give you time to train. (And you're going to need it... after all, if it goes according to plan you have to fight Rico!) I probably won't finish VNB2 until summer break, as I'm swamped and my script energies are being devoted to an X-Files script I'm writing for a class. I know it's ego talking, but I'm sure this VNB2 script is going to kick everyone's ass. (But if you say "masterpiece" again I'll lock you down in the basement with the zombies. Just so you know.)

Hope school's going well for you. At this very moment I'm procrastinating on a take-home Revolutionary America exam. I'm surprisingly ready to work on a new film as well... I was pretty burnt out on ZB3 - hope it wasn't too apparent.

SO TODD, when do we get our scripts?! Silly question, I know - the answer, as always, will be "two weeks before shooting" and I'll miss a meeting and wind up getting it two days ahead of time. Wouldn't have it any other way.

What the hell is goin on?!?!

by

Okay-

I have worked with Tim, Todd, and Jen, and the rest of the Extreme Team, and i have known John (Nailhead) for like 2 years. I get along with all of them. Tim was one of the most fun people on the set, always joking around and having fun and VERY enthusiastic (true, he did get depressed sometimes) and he was a huge fan of Todds. He thinks that we hate him because he likes Scream and more mainstream movies, we dont hate him for liking Scream, we hate SCREAM. Nothing personal, but we shouldnt have to like what he likes, and vice versa. As for Pulp Fiction, its one of my alltime favorites (as is everything by Tarantino). I even like movies like Three to Tango and Life is Beautiful, i am not ONLY a horror fan. We all have tastes outside of horror, fact of the matter is: this is a horror board. So some people will get upset if we post about other things.

I really dont know why Tim feels the need to lash out against every one whos been so good to him. This is however Online, and sometimes you DO feel a sense of detachment and it almost feels not real, but thats no excuse.

I just think its sad that things are this bad, its horrible. But this is what i have to say:

Tim, i still consider you my friend, but there is NO REASON AT ALL to lash out against Todd or ANYONE ELSE for disagreeing with you, they were not attacking you, they were attacking a movie. I know John (nailhead) can seem offensive, but thats the way he is (usually its funny, hes called me everything in the book, but never to be mean). For your sake, i would apologize because Todd was helping you. And I do know for a fact that Tim did have concerns about Todd doing his script, he was worried that Todd would try to inject comedy into his serious story. But if those would have been discussed with Todd, im sure hed understand. So Tim, youre my friend, but you just screwed up, i forgive you, but i dont know if everyone else will. I hope they do.

Extreme Release Slate

by

Okay, beyond the fact that Todd's movies never come out when he says they will (admit it!), I'm a bit curious as to the dates given in the new Extreme Videos section of the site.

Whispers in the Gloom is listed as having a May 2000 release. And then Catacombs and the collector's editions of ALL THREE Zombie Bloodbath movies come out in June? My thought is... why not spread them out a little? Sure, some people will pick them all up at once, but I know a few fans who don't have much of a budget and pick up 1-2 tapes a month. I know they'll still be there the next month, but why not space them out to capitalize on each "new release"? Especially because it will be a while until the next wave.

How about:
Whispers in the Gloom - May
ZB1 CE - June
ZB2 CE - July
ZB3 CE - August (even if you're on schedule Todd, there will inevitably be something you want to change!)
and Catacombs in September for the beginning of the Halloween haunted house season.

Any thoughts? Damn, I really want to see Whispers...

Blake, you goob

by

I have no real control over release dates with Eclipse. The fact is that we wanted to release a full package for our distributor (and for the bigger ones we are currently negotating with) and Eclipse bud Chris wants all three Zombie Bloodbaths the same month and as far as ZB3 and Whispers - we know the demand I get for those each month. ZB3 is a bit behind schedule, but Whispers is by far the longest awaited due to all the unforseen events... but it will be OK - people can buy em from Eclipse until they sell out of the first batches, then these titles may well be distributed by a bigger company... PLUS the foreign release is pending on these same titles for June... it's all just a matter of people screaming and Brian wanting these tapes OUT THERE! Hehehe!

by

You have no real control over release dates with Eclipse - okay, whose fault is that? I know people are screaming, but that's because there are NO new films right now - if you gave the fans one film it would quiet them down but you're going to hit them with three in two months! Anyhow, it was just a suggestion.

As for ZB3 being "behind schedule".. yep, I called it. And you're right about Whispers being LONG awaited - when am I going to get to see that bad boy? I'm looking forward to watching myself kick Antwoine's ass!
