Suicide???byI must have missed that part. Tim was a very nice kid, a bit depressed at times, on the set... I have no idea where this comes from guys. I really did like him a great deal. He has a great imagination and he's very enthusiastic. I loved the experience of working with him during that time. Then he and Jes hoooked up and something went sour in there. HE started acting strange on set and I am not really sure why. I would never want anyone to kill themselves over stupid shit like that. Tim, stop lashing on me and it will be OK. I am not a liar, nor am I evil. Tim, you accused me (notice I say accused, not asked) of being dishonest and said that I owed some people an apology. Man, I am as honest as I can be!!! Gory movies and Heavy metalbyHey everyone- I recently got Riki-Oh: Story of Ricky on video. Its a kungfu flick (which im already a fan of) and it is one of the GORIEST FUCKIN MOVIES IVE EVER SEEN!! I mean HARDCORE graphic gore!! I loved every second of it. If you ever saw The Daily Show with Craig Kilborn, when he did the 5 questions they had a clip of a guy getting his head smashed by hand, thats from this movie!!! I swear it is worth every penny of the 17.99 i paid. Excellent Flick. Also- i got the new Cradle of Filth EP and it kicks some major ass. Any CoF or metal fans should check it out. Final Destination (No Spoilers)byWell I don't know what the hardcore gore-fiends will think, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised by Final Destination. After a personal horror drought (no, I did NOT see Scream 3), this film just made my day (and I just saw it today... I'll probably be riding high all week.) A tense, intelligent, well-acted, well-shot, moderately gory, non-trendy (no wordy or self-referential teens), and just all-around damn good film. Came home and knocked out 7 pages of VNB2 (yes I was inspired, no they have nothing to do with Final Destination!) 8 out of 10. hehebyI dont see how watching Neve Campbell being chased around by a mysterious killer who we know is going to turn out to be someone close to her character while Static X, Slipknot, and Creed play in the background is suspenseful. Scream 1 was ok, but once again IT WAS NOT A HORROR FILM. Scream 2 was unnecessary, and Scream 3 is just a blatant cash cow that the studio put out to milk money straight from your pocket. Until you get a film that is made for the fans by the fans, its not true horror. Keep in mind that there's more to making a horror movie than big names, flashy camerawork, and a hot soundtrack. The whole cast and crew (including Todd) show up to film and these "producers" show up in tuxedos on their way to some lame Oscar party with that rip off "Film Society Of Kansas City (now THERE's a joke)" and they drop by the set where everyone sits waiting for motorcycles that never show for the sixth time. Everyone was mad and it was not Todd's fault our any of our faults. It was THEIR fault. Extreme are now in a license agreement with Troma Films in New York and LA, they have done FOUR movies with us this year and they are currently negotiating some larger foreign deals for the films. I know you have a very busy schedule (with the movies and the work at the haunted houses). But if you could i'd like you to answer my question. Has i said before i like your movies and all horror movies, but one of my favorites genres of all time has been the italian giallo or gialli films. I have a lot of those in my own private collection. My question is do you plan on doing a giallo at Extreme Entertainment? I think that would really be great. The last few ones i saw were Five Dead On A Crimson Canvas and Fatal Frames. Anyway i wish the best for you and for all the folks at Extreme Entertainment, who work there butts off to provide us with great and gory Horror. I wish I had enough money to order Violent New Breed and Zombie Bloodbath. Its been a dream of mine to direct Horror for a long time now. I beleive it is the best and most pure genre. I have an idea for a movie I've had since I was thirteen and I still have an urge to make it someday. I have no idea what's going to end up happening to me in my life, if I will direct, but Todd Sheets is one inspiring guy. It'd be an honor to meet him someday. Another thing I enjoy here is that Todd has the same views as I do on some movies, specifically Scream. I remember when that came out, and reading the letters in Fangoria where everyone unanimously agreed (even that Anthony Timpone moron) that it was the best, it would rescue the genre (like it frigging needed to be), that Kevin Williamson was oh so perfect (talentless loser, I know what you did Last SUmmer was made up entirly of "jump" scenes), and so on. Imagine my dissapointment when I saw it. It does not qualify as satire, just mention a couple things above slashers you could learn from watching two of them doesn't count. Not scary, terrible structure (when Rose McGowan died, they should have changed the setting to a different place for the finale, not stretch it out endlessly, robbing it of suspense)... it bites. And I have not read one bad review for it. Todd doesn't seem to like Craven though, I think Last House on the left is his best movie. And yes Nailhead, Blair WItch was a ripoff of Cannibal Holocaust. If only those dickwipes at Rolling Stone weren't illiterate about those things (trying to talk about the ten most influential Metal bands and Slayer isn't on it, my ass... and Cannibal Holocaust is a huge famous movie! Interesting posts hereby StevenI have not been on here in a while. I used to post as Goreboy, but someone else posted undre that name, so I don't use it now. I have been away a while and now that I am back, it has been a very entertaining time reading all of this. Here are some observations: Tim was angry and had a bad day and lashed out at someone close to him. People do this all the time. That is why best friends fight sometimes. Todd has an army of loyal people and I would not want them mad at me because I value my house. Tim posted something that made many people angry and now they responded and he did also. I think I would have just let it drop, but he felt like he needed to respond so that is cool. I actually saw where Todd said it was cool now, so I figure Tim was sorry and wanted people to leave it alone. Todd's letter was actually pretty open and that is one of the main reasons I support the guy and his work and this site. He is a straight, honest person. He seems like the real article. I think we need more people like that. Not only does he fight for what I love, but he also does it with integrity, honesty and pride. Good work Todd. Jessika is upset at Tim for personal reasons that aren't real clear on here, but from what I understand, she works with everyone on a crew or cast or something and she seems to really like Todd. Some call it crush, she calls it something else. Maybe it is more than that, maybe she sees the same person many of us do and she admires that as well. I cannot coment much on it as I really don't see too many posts about her on here. Jen is going to stand by Todd until she dies from what she said. I think that is honorable. And I want to say for the record here that Jen is a serious babe. I cannot wait to see her in a movie. Blake and Ehren seem torn and hurt by the comments and stand behind the Director, Todd, while still maintaining a friendship with Tim. This is not always easy, but they are doing it. But the situation is that Todd is indeed honest and he works very hard to make this all work. Tim, your comments are rude and they seemed like the rantings of an idiot. The personal note about Tim having a problem with you and Todd a while ago was mis-written... it should be stated that Tim had a probem with YOU because of the way you felt ABOUT Todd. Tim had no beef with Todd about it. Todd cannot help the way people feel about him and Tim knew that. But he deserved it. YOu were treated like shit, and we all witnessed it, by Tim. Todd can be headstrong and he can be VERY determined, and when he has a plan he pushes hard to get it done quick on the set, but he does it with humor and in a very nice way (most of the time). Really, I don't know how he does it. Sometimes he gets grouchy, but again, everyone gets tired, and he is allowed one or two grouchy times out of a 3 month shoot. Besides, if he wasn't like that, we'd never get anything done on time, and on Catacombs we were way ahead of schedule! Ask Blake about this, he is learning that people on a set must have a strong leader to get things doen quick, and Todd is a good leader. He tells us when we do good, he compliments us all, he steers us in the right direction ALWAYS and he always knows exactly what he is doing and where we are going with a scene. ALways. All in all, he has given me and the others around me the opportunity to do something and be a part of something I believe in and have always dreamed of doing. Odd....by BillWell i havent been on the board in a while and no longer check it on a regular basis but i recieved an e-mail today from Todd about a message Tim posted on the board and how it hurt him and this and that. Well i can't say a thing becuase I havent been fully clued in on what happend but i have had my fair share of fucked up days and I no where near ready to get involved in any more arguments because i am currently in hot water with my parents about some (problems) BEEF i had with my teachers. I don't see how they are an authority figure. I go to a fucking catholic school and we have a religion class stating that God created us all equally, well why in the fuck are they teaching us that when they are telling us what to do. An open, honest letter to TIMbyTim... I have no problems with working with you - even though you constantly act like I do - you create things in your head and it is not right. Now here is the facts Tim, and you can take them to the bank. Your letter was rude, full of lies and insulting to everyone on here. I have never acted like my films are the best, nor will I ever... I know better... I simply do the BEST I can do to make sure you guys all are entertained by them. As a matter of fact, Tim, you and I have had arguments because you say I am too hard on my own work. I could not and still cannot understand how and why you would lash out at Todd or any of us here on this board when none of us has done anything to hurt you...especially Todd. I must apologize, but I do know the server the board is on was having some work done - it was down for about an hour - so we might have lost some stuff. Anyway Jen - saw your message and you are a goober... I have a feeling Catacombs is going to not just walk the edge of offending people, it's gonna jump right over it and land in the "Sea Of Offensive Movies" where it may rule for quite some time. I am proud of this naturally, but a bit concerned as well - if we think people freaked before - wait till they get a peek at this sick puppy! Anyway, as you all know, I do actually answer my e-mails, but what happens is I get a bunch, answer as many as I can in my time window then save the rest and add them to the list... next day same thing. Eventually I will take a few hours and get caught up. Nailhead, you would get more answers, but you never really ask anything - you just always send me cool stuff (keep it going!) and I always like your mail... even if it seems like I never read it... Tim, I try and answer yours when you aren't asking me about the reality of God or something..hehe.... Jen, I see you more than these guys, and I will asnwer anything that is important or pressing, plus you know I value your mail, just read my "Directing Ghosts" section on the Catacombs page if you haven't yet... Mortal Pain was invited to the grand opening of the Museum Of Death by the girlfriend of and Lucifer Fulci himself, from the band Penis Flytrap, invited as guests to be listed on the GUEST LIST. They were playing there for the opening... Well, the mere fact alone I couldn't make it to see them is enough to send my soul hurdling into the darkest abyss..... Disgusting and Great!by RonIn general, I really hate the infamous Japanese series "Guinea Pig". The episodes are really sick, vile, misogynistic, and just way too unpleasant. I am a gorehound, but the series as a whole is really revolting. However, if anyone is curious, the one episode in the "Guinea Pig" series that really worked and I highly recommend is entitled "Mermaid in a Manhole". Unlike the other brutal and sadistic episodes, it is genuinely coherent, well written, and even moving. Sure you need a strong stomach to sit through it, but it's well worth it.( P.S. Try to get the subtitled version, as there are some tapes out there that have Japanese language without the subtitles) Respond to this message |

But forget about that, what about movie likes The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, The Devils Rain, The Brotherhood Of Satan?!?! Religious horror has become an enormous subgenre! There was a two part special in Fangoria magazine not too long ago called Devil Movies: Celebrating 25 Years Of Satanic Cinema. the worlds worst moviebyNo, the worst movie ever made is The Blair Witch Project, hands down. It was unscary, unoriginal, uneffective, and very very unentertaining. The plot was a rehash of Cannibal Holocaust, and obviously had other elements lifted from the film The Last Broadcast, the dialogue in the film is ignorant banter, the word fuck loses its effectiveness after the 250th time it is used, and the ending was so bland and dull that I seriously felt as if the so called "directors" took a $7.50 ride up my ass... killing pensioners for a livingbyBritain has at last got its own hardcore serial killer, thanks to the astonishingly arrogant Harold Shipman. His story is perfect Horror/Comedy mainly due to the many fantastic ways in which people found to close their eyes to what was going on. This brings me round to an interesting issue with regards to stories based on real events. For example no-one seems in the least offended about tales based around Jack the Ripper although there are obviously people alive who can trace ancestory back to known victims. I can think of several tales of horror/terror based on events from the 50s, 60s or 70s, where it is thought best not to make them too titillating or exploitative. Obviously an amusement Park based on the Manson Murders is probably still a generation too early, but my point is that there is a loose guideline somewhere inside peoples' heads as to when an horrific event becomes suitable. If anyone has any ideas about how this is worked out I would love to know. Also examples of films that buck the trend and how they get away with it would be interesting.
