The Extreme Ultimate Horror Board

A message board dedicated to the discussion of Horror Films, as well as a place for Horror fans to meet, make friends and trade information. Use it often, visit as much as you like and be sure that you will NOT be censored on here - ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JOIN THE HORROR ELITE by going to http://network54.com/Hide/Group/6243 and following the directions. Once you have become a member of The Horror Elite, you can post here. You then do NOT have to post your e-mail. Your real name is also NOT required, many people use nicknames - but feel free to use your real name if you want, as it makes it easier for us to all get to know one another. I want this to be a place where people can be free and be themselves WITHOUT FEAR of being insulted and ridiculed. Horror fans are always slammed and snickered at and told to "grow up" or "get a life" and they are many times treated bad from their peers. They are made fun of and tormented for who they are. NOT HERE. They can feel at ease in being the real person inside. I am not here to judge and I will not allow others to do this. I want all people posting here to be free and know that they can be real and post anything without fear of retribution.

You should get an Americom chatroom like we have on f13.com

by

They're upgrading the server, so they're not giving out new chat rooms right now... but they should within the week. Americom is excellent, and allows access through Java and IRC clients. I'll talk to one of the admins about it.

HERE'S MY 2 CENTS...

by

I say that all movies have a potential. Obviously if nobody saw them, they wouldn't be made. Have you seen any of Sheet's Cinema Home Video releases? Who would've figured he'd go on to become one of the top 5 s-o-v directors in the ENTIRE WORLD? Hey, my $800 ATTACK OF THE BATHROOM CREATURE(and that was $600 for the camcorder alone) has already grossed $400 back. It doesn't even have a professional distributor yet and that $400 was made from selling copies of a cheap VCR-to-VCR edit. No soundtrack. That film got me a role in a Full Moon movie, I've since helped produce 3 other films, including two 16mm films with budgets over $20,000. You gotta start somewhere. Even Roger Corman once said, "If I wanted to be a director and I was a teenager here in the present, I would get a video camera and start making films!" ...and by the way, the shot-on-video "cheapie" ADDICTED TO MURDER shipped 7,000 units. Why some of these films aren't at Blockbuster? They won't buy unrated films. Who wants to pay the $4,000 bucks or so to get them rated? Certainly not me. My next I'm planning will be a shot-on-video slasher parody(which has actually attracted the producers of FORREST GUMP and I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER) budgeted at $300. We're aiming to do $5,000 in profits with this one. All based on word-of-mouth(supposedly it accurately predicts the Columbine incident). - ERIC SPUDIC

Typical fanstuff

by Steven Borche

Nice layout and execution on the site. It is great to see so much hard work around here. But what I wonder is, what does it matter? Who sees these little fan movies anyway? It's not like the general public gives a damn. You should maybe concentrate your energy on doing something to help people and bring better things to the world. I just feel that by pandering to and creating such low-level movies, you aren't doing anyone any good. I am sure your heart is in the right place, but nobody cares about some little gore movie that was made for a few thousand bucks. Your mission statement oroves you are intelligent, but there are so many other things you could do with your brains and resources. You could make message films about the good in life. I really do hope you see the error in this. All this death and gore is not right for kids to dwell on. I don't see these movies in Blockbuster, so they must not be too in demand, right? Nobody even really knows about this stuff. If you did something for artistic and about something important, people would notice you. Try that.

Good luck.

Typical right wing bullshit

by

What in the name of everything unholy was that supposed to mean? Because they're low budget and non-Hollywood that means they're unwatchable and unentertaining? It just goes to show how closeminded you are, and that you wouldn't know what a real movie was if it came up and bit you in the ass. Big name actors, lots of money, hot bands on the soundtrack, these cause the movie to lose what we call its effectiveness. A film with no name actors and actresses, filmed "as is", makes the film much more realistic and much more believable. And it is quite obvious that somebody cares about the films Todd is making, as it is what has kept him in business for over a decade. You say Todd is intelligent, which he is, but then you go and insult his intelligence by saying how his films lack in talent and creativity, etc. Have you ever seen one of his films? Im guessing not, since you also state that Blockbuster does not carry them (thank god), which obviously means you only care about whats in and whats hip in Hollywood. And once again, I see Todd and his films being connected with problems in kids. First of all, who says that his films are made for kids? Any parent whose child orders or buys his films and manages to watch them in their home, going unnoticed, obviously dictates that parents lack of ability to in fact BE a parent. Take for instance the ordeal over the Pokemon plastic toy cases, in which a 4 month old child choked to death on a toy that was clearly labeled for ages 3 and up. Whatever parent gave their 4 MONTH OLD child a toy that was marked for children 3 AND UP should be prosecuted for endagering a child. They have no right parenting any other children after their ignorant actions, and in a way, deserved to have their child taken from them. It's just too bad it had to happen in the way it did, i.e. death. The point of this matter is, you can not put blame on Todd and his movies for having an effect on children, when the parents should keep them from obtaining his films if they feel the way you do. Horror films and music and such do not incite violence, ignorance and lack of education does. Todd makes films with little money because he enjoys doing so. And his fans, which are many by the way, enjoy watching, and in some cases, being a part of his films. You will never find another director who is so involved with his fan base and continues to do what he does just for them, because he is one himself. He does not sell out to the corporate gods, making big budget movies that you can find in Blockbuster, because he and the people he does this for don't see that as a necessity, as people like you do. Todd maintains his dignity, his passion for making films, and most importantly of all, the respect and loyalty of his fans. And that my friend, in the end, is all that really matters.

Flesh Freaks

by

I'd like some opinions on the site for my soon-to-be-released no-budget horror movie FLESH FREAKS. It's about worm-like parasites which infest the dead and return them to life as gruesome, blood-crazed zombies (naturally). With comics, video reviews, production info, interviews, and, of course, the inevitable 'Gorrorama' page. So please take a look, fellow horror fans, and tell me what you think -

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT, MUST READ

by

Hi everybody!

Love this message board! Fulci is still alive I'm tellin' ya! ...and guess who's making a tribute to him? Me, of course! The script is ready to go, a few actors interested, now we just need a producer to do it as a 35mm union $300,000 flick! Know anybody interested in the L.A. area? This script is gory as hell, tons of action, Lucio would admire it. I have some interviews on my website, as well as a deal for filmmakers to obtain free props for their upcoming productions:

http://www.uhpage.com/ericspudic

P.S. My favorite Sheets film is definitely ZOMBIE BLOODBATH 2 - a total blast to see. Can't wait to write something for this guy!

Todd Sheets Merchandise + A Horror Movie You Shouldn't Touch

by

Where could I get Todd Sheets T-Shirts? I'd like to know a site where I can get them. I was told they do exist. Plus, a movie you shouldn't want to touch with a ten foot pole is Hard Rock Zombies. Man, if you rented it, least you could return it, but if you bought it, you fucking wasted your goddamn money. I wasted my damn time watching the reeking shitfest. At one point, when the band starts to sing, I spit out the popcorn and soda that I had in my mouth and choked on what was left. I never saw such a piece of fucking shit in my whole life. Nothing is good about this movie, nothing. Not even the direction, script, acting, or the "Special Effects" which most of them look like something a 9 year old could do no problem. Please, my fellow horror friends, stay the fuck away from this shitfest. It sucks sour frog ass!

Appreciation Of The 50-Foot Woman

by

Yes, in February's issue of HORROR-WOOD, we're beginning a two-part series
examining the fright films and the true life of Fifties "scream queen"
Allison "50-Foot Woman" Hayes. Since it's the Valentine's Day season, we
also play Dan Cupid with "Monsters And Their Mates," which tears the lid off
those famous movie "monster-and-the-girl" romances. Speaking of romance,
we make amends for our "videos to dump your date" article of last month with
one that shows the ladies how to "dump the chump" in "Daughter Of Frightful
Flicks For Bad Dates." And, whilst on the subject of "bad date" movies, we
profile the king of such movies in "The Horrors Of David Lynch." If you're
like most of us, the classic monster flicks warped your mind at an early
age, and one such case is outlined in "Confessions Of A Misspent Youth."
Then, we continue our look at the classic horror/thrillers of Producer Val
Lewton in "The Body Snatcher In The Rye." Meanwhile, little John-John
develop a tummy ache from viewing "Please Don't Eat My Mother." We also
inaugurate a new column in this month's issue, "The Collector's Crypt,"
which provides the latest info for collectors of monster models and toys.
All this, plus the latest horror news, DVD reviews, film reviews, and more,
in the February issue of HORROR-WOOD, just published on the World Weird Web.
Crawl, slink, or slither over to:
http://www.horror-wood.com
...and we'll be "lurking" for you. Cheers!

pieces

by

the director of pieces also did Slugs - and he is a spanish director - so Pieces was an Italian - Spanish co-production... regardless, it is a fun film - if flawed and I do wish someone would re-release it in a better format - Christopher George is great in it as always. I do not recommend many of JP Simons films, but this one is goofy enough and has enough blood to satisfy.

I saw this one a long time ago. This is the one which one won an award for best FX in 198? and was rather sleazy and sexploitive the way I like 'em. I've seen it in videostores, and am pretty sure the makeup is rather outdated, and looks like it by now.

Recommendations Needed

Lately, since I've been checking out some of the independant and underground stuff of the genre, I've noticed several chains and companies such as Extreme with a love for the art, rather than the doe like the bigbudget Ikwydls crapsters, and was curious to know, which are some of the best modern underground movements in horror these days in the vein ofold school directors like Lenzi, Deodato, Argento, Carpenter, Hooper etc. etc. Is there anybody out there, who makes 'em they used to?

That is not what I was trying to start here! But, if you guys want a psycho fan- I'm your gal! Okay?! I only know Ehren and Tim, but I would be happy to be Nailhead's psycho fan also! On a different subject- I watched Blood Diner this weekend! Has anyone ever seen it? It's hilarious! One of the first scenes is in a graveyard and they hit this guard on the back of the head with a shovel, and his eyes pop out! It was so fake!! Anyway- if you wnat a funny movie, watch this one! It somehow ended up in the horror section anyway, I guess because it deals with cults and human sacrifices. It tried it's hand at gore, but couldn't hold up to Todd's standards! Later- Jen

Great Horror Movies

by

Here are some of the movies that I own. Wondering if anyone has ever heard of 'em:

Night Beast
Fatal Pulse
Psycho Cop & Psycho Cop 2
Bloodshed
Dr. Jekyll's Dungeon Of Death
Black Roses
Bloodbeat

And to all my fellow horror lovers, keep watching the good stuff! Not the dicksucking IKWYDLS movies which can suck the sweat off of a dog's nutsack and Scream, which is nothing to scream about. Wait, I take that back. It is something to scream about. Someone might scream at having wasted their time watching the shit. Scream movies can go suck my left nut!! Death to the trendy horror!!! May the independent, z-grade, and low budget horror movies never die!!!

I was wondering if can help me out. I've been looking for sometime now for both Psycho Cop 1 & 2 and Black Roses. It seems those films are out of print everywhere! So, since you own them i was wondering if could sell me a copy?

Argento's Phantom of the Opera

by some guy?

I just watched the DVD and it is awfully weird. It is a great film with excellent cinematography. The costumes and set design are brilliant. But it lacks in the Argento style. It is like a film made by a different director. It doesn't even share the same low budget sense an Italian horror film possess. It was sick when they were at that strip joint in Paris. It is about average on gore but gore isn't everything. The film can stand up on its own on its own boundaries. I just love the lighting and the classic effect and look it has. Over all I saw 4 1/2 out if 5 stars. It would be a perfect five if it was more like an original Argento work.

It is an awesome flick. Once again, Asia proves herself to be a superior actress. I do have the DVD, but it is in Todd Sheets' possesion. Maybe someday ill get it back hehe. When i get my video with Nightmare/Cat in the Brain. But Todd is a busy man so i dont hold it against him. What i DO hold against him is he always bangs his fucking flashlight against the damn walls trying to scare me!! He thinks its the funniest thing since south park. You sadistic bastid...hehehe

Just messin, todd rules.

Ripley's

Okay- I'm watching Ripley's Believe It Or Not! This guy is having is body transformed to look like a lizard. He had his tongue split, body tattooed, and weird bumps put in above his eyes! I'm not putting him down- but this would be a good guy for any horror or scifi movie! Later- Jen

I haven't seen the new version, but the commercials are the biggest crock of shit. "An all new, original series!" Um, isn't it a remake of a show from a while back, same name, same premise? Guh huh!!! I remember seeing an episode of that show (the original version) about a haunted Toys 'R Us. They showed photos of what the ghost did after hours, and an alleged photo of the ghost itself. That episode scared the shit out of me, and it still does. God I love the paranormal...

I'll give you paranormal

by

The house I live in is supposed to be haunted. Ive heard and seen a few things to back up those allegations as well. The stage theatre I used to work in is a known haunted edifice, I saw a few things there as well. All of my life I've been drawn into this realm of the paranormal, so I seem to be a magnet for places with a somewhat haunting history. The local college is reported to have a haunted library. It is supposed to be haunted by the ghost of a teacher who committed suicide in that building. My English teacher at the college told me that if you are in the building by yourself late at night, you can hear his spirit laughing down in the auditorium below.

Sick and sicker

by Karen

With our society rapidly falling apart it seems funny to me that this kind of trash is allowed. I have not seen one of these horrible films, nor will I plan on doing so. This is a poor excuse for film. I searched for Horror only to find some information on some of the better scary movies that actually mean something like The Haunting and Dracula with Bela Lugosi and found this garbage. You will be quickly forgotten like all other trash out there. There is no substance or talent in this mess. And as people grow up, they will all realize how bad this is and they will leave it in the trash where it belongs. You claim to be keeping horror alive when in reality all you have done is bring it into the dumpster. You are a bunch of no talent freaks who stole a camera and decided to pretend to be movie makers. Real horror is the old classics and the Hammer films like Curse Of Frankenstein, not this grade Z garbage. Judging by the films and directors you seem to love, you have no idea and no taste anyway. This trash that played the drive ins in the 1970's was and is forgettable sludge. Most of the films you review and mention I have never heard of anyway. And I don't want to. Why don't you do the world a favor and pawn your camera tomorrow.

I also like those classic films you mentioned. I now must that your comments are pretty rude and offensive. Do you have any idea of the hard work Todd put's into his movies, not to mention the people who work with him? It's very hard to be an independent horror film director. It's hard to get some money to do your projects, and people are always trying to bring you down.Think about it before you call other people's hard work thrash!

Nailhead's two cents on "Sick and sicker"

by

I've said it before and I'll say it again, anyone who incites something of this caliber and purposely does not leave their e-mail address to be contacted does not deserve to have his nor her comments either recognized or even read. They are pathetic, sniveling right wing zealots who have nothing better to do than to tell other people how screwed up their lives are. The comments you made Karen were totally uncalled for, and acting upon everything you pointed out, are ludicrous and ignorant. If you feel the need to gripe and bitch about everything that is evil and wrong, do so in Focus on the Family magazine, not here. Your inane banter only falls upon deaf ears.

As for defending Todd and EE, I do not feel the need to do so. Todd's empire is slowly building and he comes across this bullshit all of the time. It does not have seemed to have made any impact whatsoever so far. I would not contribute my time and effort on making music for Todd's films if I felt he was a talentless hack who is going nowhere and has nothing to offer but trash and sludge. And I am sure that everyone else who aids him in his quest feels the same way. Todd has potential, he always has shown it, and continues to show how it is groing everyday. I just can not believe the sheer ignorance of Karen's post. It threw me into hysterics to see just how misguided some people can be. But it also saddens me as well, for these are the very people running our country.

I realize that by saying what I have said in the first sentence of this post, and posting this message seem to be somewhat contradictory, but so be it. Ignorance never ceases to amaze me, and that is what we have here. Not just with Karen, but with every other fool who deems it necessary to lash out against Todd and filmmakers like him by saying they are contributing to this society rapidly falling apart. It really takes a lot of gall to say something like that. Is it not obvious that the reason for society falling apart is a clear result of the hypocrisy that ever so plagues it? Oh no, it can't be the More-righteous-than-thou attitude that plays across from people like Karen, or the constant demonizing of anything and everything non-Judeo Christian. It can't be the fact that the youth of today feel alienated from a society that says they have to look and act a certain way, or they are mentally unstable and unfit to live with us. God damn you for doing this to us, and damn you for ever even thinking to insult Todd and the other legions of filmmakers like himself. People like Todd are not what is wrong with this society, Karen. Take a look in the mirror sometime, you'll find that problem staring right back at you.

Monster's reply to "Sick and Sicker"

by

Well it seems to me, that our friend is simply upset, because she actually came across someone with enough gall, talent and love for art to take the pepsi with the Teeny Weeny Scream contest any day of the week. Though I haven't seen much I may like, being that Extreme is no Fulci or Lenzi, I do appreciate that there's at least someone around in the 00s with a love for art, rather than doe, and is still keeping the "real genre" alive, at least in the underground.

Karen, those are fighting words

by Blue Eyes

I finally got another computer after the horrible crash that happened in October, get on here and the first thing I see is your crummy letter. It is stupid people like you that make what Todd does even harder. I am not a friend of Todd's, (but I'd sure like to be) and I love his work. In college I have met several people that love it as well, not even counting the amount of people online I have met who also love it. His name is growing bigger in Horror circles all over the place, not just here. Horror fans are not fools. They know when someone is sincere and honest. They also know when a person is really working hard to bring good Horror to us all. It is a sad fact that people like you burden his creative mind with such hate and spite. Do the world a favor and get a life and let others enjoy theirs.

Hi everyone! I'm back and better than ever! Todd, I love the new pictures of ZB3 and Catacombs, both films that seem really interestinig. Why are you still doing Biker Babes? And last, I love the new pics of you on the front page. Give us more!

RARE Horror novels

by

Hey folks,
As I am new here I'd like to say hello everyone on the board. I've been looking for a board that does NOT censor its posts. Finally found it.
Anyhow, to start off, I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of horror writer Al Sarrantonio. He's authored novels such as "Moonbane", "Skeletons", and "House Haunted". Never read his stuff myself but I have wanted to for a while. Apparently he is out of print except for a new story collection called "999". He is the editor of that book I believe. Anyone know who I'm talking about? If so, do you also know where I can get any of the books I mentioned? Love to hear from ya!

Got an even harder one for you: I don't know the author's name but the title of the book is "Werewolves: Soldiers of Horror". Came out in paperback around 1990 and is about Nazi werewolves (I think). The cover has the face of a wolf with swastikas for pupils. Saw one copy ten years ago and haven't seen it since. If you heard of it, let me know PLEASE! It's been a TEN YEAR search! Bookstores, auction sites, NOBODY seems to have it! HEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!

Well, that's enough for now. Although I would like to discuss the David Lynch film, "Lost Highway" with someone in the future. I think I have an idea what the heck is going on. If you think you do or you are David Lynch let's talk about it.

Greetings,

I've never heard of that werewolf novel, perhaps it was one of those right wing, Werewolves-are-evil-because... type of things. Or maybe just a very obscure horror novel. Either way, it sounds interesting, good luck in your search!

As for Lost Highway, what is it exactly you want to talk about? I found to be quite... surreal. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, it was just very strange. Tell us what you think was going on, I'm sure most of us probably don't have a clue!! Then again, it's bee a while since Ive seen it, so who knows...

More nonsensical ravings from a ghoulishly deviant mind

by

Greetings boils and ghouls,

Tis I, the Ghastly Ghoulish Go Go Guru here. First off, my Texas Chainsaw Massacre web site, The Saw Is Family, has been nominated in the 2000 Horror Web Awards. We started out in first place, but fell to third. I need all of you to vote for the site to rocket us back into #1! Please go to www.gis.net/~fish/hwa2000 and vote for us, under Best Slasher Site. Thanks!

Second off, I heard some interesting news concerning Hellraiser 5. Apparently it is due out later this year, and will star Craig Scheffer (Nightbreed). The plot concerns a battle between the Cenobites and a legion of angels, and will reportedly only feature Doug Bradley as Pinhead in a cameo appearance, as well as introduce some new cenobites. Opinions?

Next, I've been hearing rumors that The Beyond will be rereleased in all its glory on DVD by Anchor Bay for the past 5 or 6 months, and according to Anchor Bay themselves, it is now soon to be a reality! The Beyond, original full length directors cut. Orgasmic to every horror hounds ears... It's about time dammit!

I love cheese. Cheesiness is next to godliness.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, more from me

You can't be a horror fan without being a TCM freak, it's a rule or somethin! Wanna hear a funny story? Back in the days when I was talking with Tobe Hooper almost on a daily basis, we were talking about the next TCM film, and how Tobe was in talks to direct it. Well, his assistant Marcia, she was telling me how he had some thoughts on what to do with the new film, and he mightve been thinking of introducing a new character in it... And she said that since I had been so loyal to Tobe and TCM that maybe he would call the new character Nailhead!! No shit! Too bad he didn't go on board with the film, that wouldve rocked man...

Name the Blakes Contest

by

Okay, it's not really a contest per se, but give it a shot anyhow. Here's the problem: I, Blake Washer, joined the Extreme Entertainment gang back in 96(?) with Vampire Holocaust. Blake isn't too common of a name, right? Well this past year, the talented-beyond-his-stature Blake Fitzpatrick came on board for mayhem and mischief.
The last "problem" of this sort (involving the more common name "Steve") was resolved by calling the disputing parties "Big Steve" and "Little Steve". But I don't want the young Mr. Fitzpatrick to get a complex from being called "Little Blake", and I don't want to be stuck with the very gay-porn sounding name "Big Blake" (better than the also-suggested "Long Blake"). So... anyone?

I blew up Catacombs

by

Geezus Kriest! I haven't seen anything this dead since the audience at Waterworld... Let's get a topic going people! I feel the need to incite a riot just to get things moving...

Anyone else into Industrial music? I mean real Industrial, not that shitty Crystal Method/Chemical Brothers/Gravity Kills rave-scene-masquerading-as-indsutrial bullshit... Hardcore Belgians banging on washing machines. Shit like Skinny Puppy, Foetus, Pig, Meat Beat Manifesto, Leæther Strip, Front Line Assembly, Das Ich, Autechre, Covenant, KMFDM, Ministry, etc. I feel like I'm the only rivethead in the horror scene, and I've already been cast away from the Industrial scene by a few Holier-Than-Thou rivethead's for being a horror fan. Does nobody appreciate my rivet-ness?? And god damn it if I see one more gothy girl with vinyl platform shoes and some bubble gum punk band t shirt I swear to god I'm gonna go Columbine on their ass!!

Ok I vented. Toodles!

Covenant...

by

Covenant is also a black metal band with Hellhammer from Mayhem on drums and Nagash from Dimmu Borgir singing and playing bass. Awesome band, if youre into black metal go get Nexus Polaris, their latest album.

It's Y2K! It's "Bedlam"!

by

...er, we mean that in the January 2000 issue of HORROR-WOOD, we cover that Val Lewton gem with Boris Karloff and a cast of a hundred lunatics--"Bedlam." Perhaps your computer or toaster oven hasn't melted down from Y2K, but what about your relationship? If you want to put an end to it, we have just the prescription for you...horrible videos that will send your "significant other" out into the snow screaming. Read about it in "Frightful Flicks For Bad Dates." Yes, you heard right--Oprah's fuming, Geraldo's cursing, but we have the exclusive "Interview With Jekyll And Hyde." Bet you didn't know that Hammer Studios almost made a few more keen horror flicks than listed in the official Canon--we have the "proof" in "The "Lost" Hammer Horrors." Finally, we take a good, hard look at what happened to horror films the last 30 years...where has all the creepy fun gone? You'll find out in "Bodies Of Fright." Meanwhile, little John-John finds out he doesn't give a rat's--er, whiskers, for the rodent horror flick "Willard." All this and lots more in the January 2000 issue of HORROR-WOOD. Just slither, slink, or crawl over to:
http://www.horror-wood.com
and enjoy! Cheers!
