| I'm not sure this is the same thing as a HOT humid country, but it rains several times a week here.
You could try bracing the house with gingerbread buttresses INSIDE the house. For instance, if you built a large A-Frame house, instead of just having the East and West end walls, you could insert one or more extra end-walls INSIDE the house where you can't see them.
(Or is that cheating?!!) LOL
