Maryland Festival of Trees

I made my second gingerbread house this year and ventured away from most of the patterns and made my own. I had a picture in my painted ladies book of The Gingerbread Mansion Inn that Deni made a few years back for the Grove Park Inn competition (saw it on the food channel). Mine was strictly christmas-y, not meant to be a replica of the original house. I had problems with my gingerbread softening from humidity but it seems icing held my house up since almost every square inch was iced. I won Chairman's Choice in our local Festival of Trees that benefitted Kennedy Kreiger Institute, a hospital for children with special needs, or serious illnesses. I'm thrilled!
