Response to gingerbread train

I have also been looking for a gingerbread train pattern but have been unable to locate one, so I made my own. I saw a gingerbread train on the gingerbreadlane website, and made my own pattern. For the engine, I made it like a 6"x6" letter "L" with 1" square windows. For the floor of the engine, I made a 3"x6" piece. The upper sides and roof consisted of four 3"x3" pieces, one of which has a window. The open and closed boxcars each consisted of two 3"x3" pieces for the ends and three or four 3"x6" pieces for the sides/top, respectively. I have the pieces baked, and it looks as though it will work, although it my be a little bit on the large size. I am going to need a half-sheet cake board in order to get all the pieces to fit. As with the gingerbread houses I make, I plan to fill the boxcars with candy--that always brings wide eyes and a smile to the children who receive them. Good luck!
