I had one house collapse. (I believe it was due to humidity in the air.) Fearful it might happen again I decided to "paint" the "wrong" side of all my pieces using royal icing. (i.e. the inside of the houses)I just gave each piece a quick coat of "paint" & let it dry before assembling. The coating of "paint" (icing) seems to add strength to the "building". I also bake my pieces a little longer in order to dry them out a bit, leaving little or no moisture in them. Hope this helps!! Good luck! Anne
