Response to NO! You are in fact very wrong!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Madam, I take issue with your most recent post, pasted below. I did not contradict your inclusion of a recipe with Ener-G egg replacer, which does not contain animal products (in recipe #2 of your previous post, also pasted below). However, I do object to your statement: "powdered eggs in place of the whites. No animal proteins in the powdered versions" (in recipe #1 of your previous post). That is completely inaccurate, and the vegan who posted the original question will back me up on that. Eggs, raw or cooked, pasteurized or unpasteurized, powdered or liquid are simply not vegan. For the record, regular meringue powder is not vegan (it uses dried egg whites). However, using Ener-G egg replacer would probably work as a substitute, although I must confess I have never attempted to make a vegan royal icing. I work with raw eggs, meringue powder or dried egg whites, all of which, once again, are not vegan.
YOUR MOST RECENT POST:
"Ok mister know-it-all. Before you make a post, you really should have your facts straight! The ones I'm talking about are a blend of corn starch and other ingredients. They are marketed and sold as an egg white substitute, but in fact have no animal products in them at all. They are very hard to find, but do in fact exist! Look...I'm just passing this info along from another source. I didn't make it up...I'm just offering suggestions like you are. This isn't supposed to be a battle of wits, but a site designed to help fellow gingerbreaders out. It's the holidays for goodness sakes. Please stop the pettiness, relax, and try to be kind."
YOUR PREVIOUS POST:
