HI everyone, I just found this board and am relatively new to gingerbread house making. I just found out that I have been accepted to the National Gingerbread Competition at the Grove Park Inn here in Asheville NC.
I have made smaller more simple houses, and this is my first attempt at a competition piece.
So, for my first question.....how long will a batch of royal icing be good for? As I start constructing, will I need to use a batch all in one session, or can I put it in the fridge and have it still be usable the next day?
Also, if any of you have competed in this event before.......
....can you include a picture of the real structure you used as inspiration with the description of the piece?
....can you use a turntable to better show off your piece? If so are there any rules about the turntable? I can't find any in the official rules.
