Hows Your Humor May 20 2003 at 5:04 PM		Merlin

- Fess up didnt work too well so hows this ? I suppose you could say this is related. Hows your sense of Humor travel, Being from the North our sense of humor is very black (harsh im told) its got me in bother a few times (im banned from a few forums) so i know for a fact that my sense of humor doesnt travel at all, Even the forum owner has had a little bit of trouble with it misunderstanding my humor. So that being the case as most of us are from different places in the world how does your sense of humor travel "or is it just me?"

My humour is like Kentish Beer: Dry, Bitter, and full of chaff. Gentle and humane sarcasm and irony, and playing up on the fact I'm complete wuss.

I believe mine to be in a league of its own....being a south african and blonde it takes me longer than most to understand half the stuff (you think I jest!) but I am sarcastic as hell and think sarcasm is reallllly funny....I also love corny jokes - for example:

Dyslexic man walks into a bra....

My humour..is dark i believe...I too have been banned from many a chatroom cause folk can't take my sense of humour...There loss though, as i can be funny as hell at times :)so i'm told...IF I CAN MAKE PEOPLE LARF THEN MY JOB IS DONE

Thank you for bringing it up here!!!!

And I absolutely LOVE the way all of you described your “senses of humor!!!”

~ considering “humor” ..... Hmmmmm .....

To tell you the truth I always feel like those scenes from the old Star Trek shows ... where Mr Spock was forever saying things like ....
“humor ... it is a difficult concept” ....

Or was it “Data” .... from the Newer Star Treks that said that?

Well .... who ever said it .... the message is definitely me!!!
I'm guilty of being overly sensitive, and I take everyone's words straight to the heart.

And I’m like Boo, in that it always seems to take me longer then most to “get” the punch line to anything ... but unlike Boo .... I don’t have any great excuses.
Except that .... erm ... ~ thinking ~ ... maybe being “Native American” has something to do with my “seriousness” ... and seemingly “lack” of humor.

It is true that ....having visited extensively with Merlin .... I have to admit here ....
There are lots of times that his .... erm ....
“harsh” (???) ... sense of humor often escapes me.
And in our conversations ....
I find myself sometimes taking immediate offense to some of the things said.

LmaoOOOoooo ... fortunately for me ...
Merlin is way laid back ... and he seems to have never ending patience, when it comes to my quick “temper” and “tantrum” flashes.

I’m pretty sure that most everyone who knows me ... knows that I’m planning to spend some time in “Belfast” ... for a work related project.

To tell you all the truth .... it worries me more then just a little bit .... that Merlin is forever telling me that “his kind of humor” ... is simply typical of the Northern Irish.

I havent a clue as to why im ever writing this but nothing and i mean nothing is taboo as far as humor goes, But then thats maybe just Us

When someone says .....
“That's not funny!''

LOL ... It generally has two meanings!!

There’s the poor soul who is the brunt of the joke.
They’re less likely to find as much humor in it ... as the people around them.

Then there’s the people standing around, who are laughing their backsides off,
Finding Great Amounts of humor at the expense of the other poor soul!!!

Hmmmmm .... is it fair to laugh in this case?
