Response to Have a question regarding barrettes.....
 

so the barrette doesn't "cut" my hair as I wear it. Sometimes, I've also covered the metal clasp with yarn, kind of "crocheted" it on, and that works good too.
I just don't like taking chances with hair toys.

Your barrettes sound like the foam thing would protect your hair.
