clear fingernail polish and coated all edges of them. I also have been known to use my grinding "stone" (I wish I knew what those parts were CALLED) on my Dremel and smooth the metal FIRST, then cover with clear nail polish.

I also bought a bunch (a gross, actually) of plastic spring-barrettes so that I could put my hair-bow barrettes onto plastic. They are nice, but I have to put them in a certain way or they want to pinch one or two strands of hair in the joint. That's probably safer for my hair (one or two hairs as a sacrifice) than the old metal barrettes were (they were cheapies; JoAnn fabric, four for a buck)

There you have it. Yes, Sister, I am a fount of wisdom! (yeah, right. You'd get smarter things out of my DOGS' mouths, I know)
