Response to Has anyone used one of those hairsticks that look like a wooden clothsepin?

Hi Merryrose,

I have a beautiful wooden fork (I think that's the correct name; someone jump in if not) that sounds very similar to yours and I can NOT get the thing to stay in my hair for love or money. Yet, I have a single hairstick that stays in WELL. The difference is that the fork has been lacquered and is VERY smooth and slick. The stick is smooth, but isn't slick, and is also twisted (the design) so it seems to "grab" the hair better. Could be that the fork is just too smooth for you daughter's hair? That's the problem with mine I know, plus I have very straight, slick hair on top of it. Oh yeah, I have two of those hair forks and using both of them didn't help me at all. But then, I am very updo impaired, so part of it COULD be ME! :P

Hmmm.. that's not too encouraging, is it? Sorry, maybe someone will offer something better.
