Redken's Fresh Curls.......

I don't have curly hair, but I won the shampoo and conditioner. I used the conditioner once, and my hair was really shiney and silky. I don't know what it does for curls though. I really don't care for the smell...it smells like a cleaner you will find under your kitchen sink . If ammonium laureth and lauryl sulfates are harsh on your hair, don't use the shampoo.
Does anyone know why the shampoo contains salicylic acid? It is used for treating acne, and it is close to the top of the list.
