Though this movie was a technical masterpiece, I was disappointed in it as a whole. They didn't allow enough time for character development before diving into the action, and what little time they spent was split between too many characters and felt very formulaic. The script was pretty mundane.

When you have a pro-US message - and don't be fooled, this movie was about our bravest and finest facing extreme adversity - our government will loan you all of the cool toys you need.

A couple of days after viewing this, I watched the documentary "The Real Story of Black Hawk Down" on the history channel. It was twice as compelling as the movie. Too bad about the commercials.
