At the local Fair P.I. Inc. is have the Modifieds 4x4 Truck show tonight and seeing it's my home town pull in a way I'm going to go play and see how I fair againts some of the baddest 1200+ H.P. Alcohal injected Truck in the State ...
The way I look at it, if I don't break then it was a good pull. I pulled in a 7200lb diesel/gas class and came in 3rd, so I was pretty happy as I figured all the diesels would beat me. Got beat by 2 very hot diesels and beat 1 turned up diesel.

How much are you changing finals?
August 30 2005, 6:11 PM
I saw over on 385 you said you where two off. Just wondering if your tracks are that differant that you guys do a lot of changing.
Years ago when we first went to profab's I thought we would be changing alot. However, we dont. I think all it really did was allow you to dial in that little extra you could not do with stock parts. Seems here that when you find that sweet gear, you pull it at all but the far extrme tracks.
We have tried small changes, of one set at tracks that where slightly off, but the engines seem to like a certain range, and it didnt effect rpm all that much.
I am curious because you might experiance a wider variaty of tracks, and I am just wondering what the norm is up there.
I also want you to keep Murray in mind in January. I would love to get some people to come in from differant areas. so we can all compare.
The Suring sled is a dead weight 25,000 # sled. You know it's there from the time you hook to it. Try to get your tires to hook too the track and go.
This year the Club found a New Self propelled sled from Waupaca WI that lets you run wide open till the end of the track where he puts the stop to you, So you have to gear a little different for him, Get going as fast as you can and let momentum work into your favor.
Then there's a couple of NTPA short hook Sled's that come out of the hole easy but when the pad hits the ground it gives you a little hop that seems to always be at the wrong time, and you have to blip the throttle to get it to stop.
So you see I can be playing with a 500 gear with the NTPA sleds and a 800 gear for the Suring sled and I'll put in 1100 gear for that Waupaca Sled.
Like I said before this year was a year of learning and I look for a max. Rpm of 7400 so which ever gears works to make that happen is the one I'll be running next year.
Matching the track to the sled and the right gear that the game I play here.

Watch the Wausaukee pull video
August 30 2005, 8:49 PM
The very first Truck that pulled (Maybe Baby) said he kept his pull because he'd wouldn't chance blowing his 45,000 dollar motor on a shit track like the one that was there...he finished 5th
Wausaukee is one of our best tracks here, running a NTPA Sled. Hell I would have regeared and pulled again.

is one of those trucks injected? The intake sticking up looked like one, but the video is small.

But he had a really bad pull and I tried not to show it ...
It looked like he only had about 4 psi in his rear tires and it would squat really bad and bounced alot .

So now that you've had a season with the new front end setup do you think you gained anything by switching to it? Does the steering wheel jerk out of your hands anymore or less? Hopping?
I like them lots .. Never had the streeing wheel jerked from my hand like I did with the old set-up..
Just have to keep about 10 PSI in the bags and they work great.. But every once in a while it will get a little Chatter hop going in the front end yet .. You can see it in the Super Stock Gillett 8-20 pull Video..
