Well

With 6 engine builds under my belt, I'd say have a Pro build your motor for you ... Yes I was able to put them together and they actually ran.. But I also blew up 4 of them due to little things I missed when building them.

And at a cost of 10,000 to 8000 a pop my next motor, which will cost $25,000, will be put together by a Pro.

Well it sounds like you need to start locating parts. Like the early 70's heads and blocks, the rest is just your preference on the internals.

Where do you pull and what kind of truck??

i pull in the western ky and western tn area. Ive got a 77 f250. I bought a 460 the other day because thats what most of the people running fords in that class have. all i need now is what to put on the internals. Are these motors set up basically the same as a drag car motor or what.

Still find some CJ or PI heads, bore it, lightweight pistons and rods, roller cam, victor intake. They are somewhat like a drag motor but not quite. Comp has a lot of grinds I like for kind of a starting point.
