The Inertia ring is the outer ring of your harmonic balancer.
They also have Inertia rings on Tractors that are really really thick flywheels to keep thing rolling when it get lugged down.
My 400 Case tractor has a Flywheel that's about 5" thick and weights like 200 pounds.
