Dan a while back you mentioned having some parts you needed to "unload". I am going to freshen up my motor this winter and hope to get it out in a couple of weeks.
I ditched the idea of the cast iron CJ heads and bought Ford Motorsports SCJ heads. I am now running a Eagle crank (4.150) and H beam rods (6.8). You mentioned you had a set of rods with the L19 option. From what I have seen in the catalogs this is supposed to be a better bolt. Can they be put in my rods or is it a totally different rod ? I was wondering if my rods would take the extra HP the new top end would make.

Yes they can

The bolts can be used with your current H-Beam rods .. the rods themselves will withstand up to 2000 H.P. it's the bolts that limit how much H.P. they can hold.

I still have the L-19 bolts if your interested I'd have to get 175.00 + shipping for them. Retail is 196.95 for them.

As for holding up my 532 has a Scat crank Eagle rods and SRP pistons and is holding up really good to the 800 H.P. it puts out.
Best money you'll spend is on your Heads and Cam.
Get the heads ported to flow what you need and then have a good cam guy like Lem Evans to build you a Custom cam to fit you needs..

Both Charlie and Lem Evans did me right with what I had them do for my last motor.
Give them a call Charlie Evans (270)685-4654 evans_charlesd@bellsouth.net
or lem.evans@bfevansford.com
Or you can go to the 460Ford.com site and message them there.

ShaZams Block

September 28 2006, 7:18 AM

If you don't mind me asking what kind of block are you running. If one what type of main girdle.
I was thinking of putting a main girdle in my motor this winter but there are several out there and they very alot as to price and material they are made of. From $79 for a mild carbon steel to $300+ for and alumiunm. Then there is the option of installing the four bolt main caps which I assume will do the same thing.

When I was running the Car Blocks I used a main girdle that I got off Ebay. They were made of tool steel and came with there own Studs and nuts ... I think I paid like 95.00 a piece for them.
I also had to massage the girdles some around the oil pump to get them to fit right.

Now I'm running a SVO A-460 Block with the 4 bolt mains and the guys I bought the block from said I didn't need a stud girdle with this block.

This is the one that I plan to use in my new motor.

The guy that is helping me from some of the forums is a mud racer and he claims that they make a good product.
