I'll tell you every cam I have ....
Numbers and timing ..

What you looking for . how much comp. you got, what type of heads ,What intake you running , Ported or not ? ,how much stroke , what fuel you plan on running.
I'll tell you what cam I ran in my 501, 528, 532, and my 435,426, and 408 Small blocks .

Just have to ask nicely ..
There's a few guys I pull with now that are finlly getting on this board. but Even if I spill my guts as to what I have and how it's set up, Ford and Chevy are not the same when it comes to heads and intakes .. So my killer Ford 528 info won't really help Cory or Steve with there BBC due to Flow conflicts ..

But then again look what I did to the Shoto Club with all the info I gave them a few years back. Right Donny

No biggie. I was just wondering how big of CAM's (lift) you were running to see how it compared to mine. If you wish to share great, if not no big deal. What is considered big?

What happened with the SHOTO club Dan?

re Lift

March 29 2007, 9:25 AM

I don't have all the specs with me, but I'm running .7 lift now, and after I take it to the dyno, I may pull the cam and go bigger, or go to 1.8 rockers.

ours

March 29 2007, 10:57 AM

We never had a real good revin puller engine till we went roller cam.
One of the best all round cams ever, I bought from Bret, and if memory serves it was a 250/260 @.050 with .715? lift (poor memory)

Our current 514 runs a 285/290 @.050 roller with .715.750 lift on a 1:72 rocker, maxed out doves, victor n dommie with 2 1/8 uprights and flat tops

The guys are right - meaningless really, unless the whole combo is matched to the cam. What works in one motor may not work in someone elses. Heads, intake, carb, and headers have a serious impact.

Chris,

You're being too vague. I don't know what you have for an engine, class, heads or whatever. It depends on all these variables as to what kind of cam one runs.

I've run(Pro Street) well over 850 lift on the intake and over .800 on the exhaust with D0OE-R heads with. 288 and 300 dur. @.050.

Go up to Pro Stock and we're pushing .900 lift.

Down to Street Stock .700ish lift and 270ish and 280ish durations.

All rollers.

Thanks Brett. That is what I was looking for. I was just wondering what kind of ball park people were using. That is all.

"What happened with the SHOTO club Dan?"

Back a few years ago 2001 season. I was invited to come pull in a club down south that Franny Matz belonged to. At that time there was just a bunch of guys that had trucks that liked pulling and breaking parts.
When I showed up Franny and I had the two toughest trucks there so it was a Dan and Fran show . either I took 1st or Franny took 1st. By the 3rd pull of there season I was not really liked by there members.
Until the day I started walking around looking at there trucks and I offered the boys advice as to why there trucks weren't pulling really well.

At that point the Shoto boys where about 10 years behind WUMPA on technology. With my help and advice they closed that gap in 2 short years and now they have 4 really tough Super Stock trucks and 3 really tough Open stock trucks.

I was Points Champion in the Shoto club during the 2002 Season. I have now since reaimed my goals on bigger Clubs.
Pullers Incorporated has 22 of the baddest Super stock truck in the State of Wisconsin. And I'm just having Fun pulling thru out the state.
