Sorry to hear for all your troubles on and off the track - best wishes, for your family, and I hope your truck isnt too damaged

A thought on the dropped valve - do you run an egt gauge? If the valve was overheated, it would bind in the guide and get clipped by the piston.

Might be the same with your dads truck, given a pushrod went thru a rocker and u dropped a cylinder.
