Well tomorrow will be the last pull of the season for 1Draggin. I guess it will be like one of you guys sanctioned pulls. Most of my pulls this year have been what you guys call "brush pulls".
We will be pulling against the boys from down around Richmond and they don't play. All of their trucks are making 750 hp and up. Mostly Chevys. My intention is to let them know there was one Ford there ! Hopefully we won't be in the very back of the pack.
Anyway it will be a good test run on the steering and water pump mods we made.

Good luck, I'm sure you will notice a difference. The motor will come up faster, and you'll be putting more ponies on the ground.

Thanks guys. The pull doesn't start until 7:00 pm so I doubt there will be enough light to get any decent video. But if there is I'll try to get it on monday.

Short story

October 1 2007, 7:22 AM

Long story short. We had our butt handed to us on a plater.
I knew we were going under gunned. But I didn't think it would be that bad. There were several truck there that I usually pull against and we did well against them.
But man that other clubs truck were out there. The best truck in our group pulled 270' and the other clubs trucks were pulling it out the end and came back for a pull off, the the winning truck pulling 304' in the pull off !
I was having some fuel pressure trouble which haven't had time to look at yet. I noticed the pump didn't sound right when I unloaded the truck. When we checked the gage.It was bouncing from 6 to 9 psi and would never settle down. When I made my run it sounded and felt like it ran out of fuel on the big end of the track. But doubt it really made much difference. Maybe a few feet. Which on a 253' pull really wouldn't have changed much.
The good thing is we enjoyed the evening and the truck was in one piece when we left. I'll have to check with Aeromotive to see if they have a rebuild kit for the pump and go from there.
