Why do you have a fuel rule in this class and how do you enforce it.

Where is KOTTPA?

Here in Colorado, the CTTPA PRO-STOCK rules are similar to yours...

Differences would be:

-air bags in front are OK if seperate lines are used to each bag.
-Aftermarket heads and porting OK.
-.650 cam lift rule...any duration...roller OK.
-20" hitch height
-Any width tire
-Upright headers only
-Centrifugal clutches OK
-No fire jacket necessary
-SFI bell. clutch, fly, and dampers
-driveline loops

Where is your association?

A......

We are located in South Central Kentucky, we run in KY, southern IN, and northern TN.

The assoc. has a fuel tester, dont know any specifics on it, I am not sure how often the fwd guys get fuel checked as i run the twd class. Last year the winner in our class had his fuel checked at every pull, next year the top four will be checked at every pull.

I missed the why part of it. We use a fuel rule due to some of the prices on fuel. Some of the guys got to running the VP44 (i think thats right) at a reported $50 dollars a gallon its a little pricey. As far as the choices it is easier to keep up with this way, the guys at the meeting discuss what they are running and is available in our area. they made the decision on what fuels would be legal.

One more thing, the Safety rules such as flywheel, driveline loops, kill switch etc. are covered under the general rules so they dont show up here.

Couldnt figure out how to edit
maybe cause im not logged in

Your rules are very similar to Super Stock in Indiana Truck pullers with a few differences;

For 08, we can have any hood design.

35x12.5 inch DOT tires Wrangler XT terra's are allowed but no one runs them.

We can run any head as long as it is Iron. Also we can do whatever to them.

We only need engine side shields if inner fenders are removed

Any clutch allowed

New for 08 is fuel can be added after crossing scales if the truck makes more than one hook (ie pull off or dropped hook or class reset)

Several of the pullers in this class are from Indiana. Ellis Lang in the Family Tradition truck was the points champ this year, David Lawton in Just For Fun and Walter Smith in Stressed Out pull with us as well. Walter is the class spokesman this year. We ran in Marengo IN this summer.

Walter pulled with us a few times this year, and was at the fall meeting last Sunday. Actually sent me a video today to put on our website. He has a very nice looking Ford!
Does the Terrels (Hot Lips) run with you guy's any? I've thought about coming down there, but that's a LONG drive! We went down to Montgomery for the last ITPA hook of the season and that was almost 4 hours for me.

Alan.

The Hot Lips truck ran with us one time this year, in Marengo. I realize it is a long way, but any of you guys would be more that welcome, if you ever feel like making the trip.

We run 35's so would we be able to run with you guys? I sure wouldn't want to drive all the way down there only to find out I couldn't hook because of minor rule variances.

I believe that came up once before if I remember correctly. Roy Hall came all the way to Lafayette TN, I think they actually ended up pulling the tires off of the Half Bad truck and putting them on Roy's. Its been a couple of years and my memory is not real good so I may have some of the details wrong.
Walt would be the one to answer that question.
