Any good reason why I couldn't put a Chevy or Dodge Dana 60 Front end under my Ford Other than the fact that the transfer case is on the wrong side. If I got a right side X-fer case. I would have a better chance at finding something if I could go that route. Does any one know what the frame widths are on a Dodge and Chevy. Bad thing about Ford Only 78 and 79 had the 32" frames. And that is what I need.

Digger, a D60 from a chevy is very common under a ford. My 96 has a chevy front but it is a prostock truck with a profab t-case. If you do this it will make it easier to get into more desired rearend ratios like the 6.20 and such. You will need to move the spring mounts on them as a chevy has the springs on the outside of the frame. I could possibly measure the chevy I have behind the barn if need be, but I would think one of the chevy guys would have this info on the top of his head. If you cannot locate a chevy front just cut a rear and put the knuckles off a dana 50 front and make your own front.

i run a chevy d-60 in my 1975 ford frame
and it dropped right in
i just run a np205 case out of an old dodge and i am gonna switch to a pro fab as soon as i can afford it
but it was a easy swap
steering bolted right up
i didnt have to move my spring mounts
and 78-79 has the same frame width in the front as 67-79
it is in the back is were the 79-79 are wider
if you need some pics let me know i finally figured out how to email pics
and i have my track apart now so i can get ya some good pics
