Do you guys have any good ways of telling a Eaton HO72 and H110 apart? Are they worth anything? I'm scrapping a 72 chevy 3/4 ton that has an eaton rear in it but i'm not sure if I should keep it.

Currently, my Eaton is just an open rearend. With the sled pulling down on the rear evenly, I've had pretty good luck with both back tires pulling, however, there has been a few times when I was told that only one tire was spinning. I've been kind of hesistant to weld it because I've seen more cases of them coming apart once they have been welded, however, I'm concerned that I might be loosing some 'bite' with it being open. A buddy of mine is a professional welder so I'm not worried about the welds holding up, but I really don't want to be swapping pumpkins throughout the season due to breakage. Any opinions on welding this up...what it would help/hurt??
