Well the engine will be done and dyno'd in about 2 weeks......Tonight I removed the rear brakes from the 14-bolt. Tomorrow I will be welding up my rear solid suspension, removing old engine (NEW but going to different project), and removing entire body. Like I said before......"when it gets warmer out, it will all happen in short order". I will post pics of solid rear suspension tomorrow.....
Follow this post cause it will have new pics very often.....
I plan to unleash FRANKENSTEIN in Mitchell NE on June 21st...Hope to see DIGGER460 and FROSTBITE there. Maybe even YES DEERE....
Diesel, you do realize you competition is a Ford, so you don't have a prayer of beating him. LOL Oh well just keep telling yourself that 2nd ain't so bad.....

How did he get to keep his points then and when was this?
This is the story I got....(Not a fact, just what I heard)
They had a no printed fuel rules in 2007. In 2006 they had rules that were not enforced due to no testing.........When he started winning, He did not divulge his brand. THEN, the board the next year came up with an approved list of fuels.
- Sunoco Purple
- C12
- Track Tech (TT-111)
Was he caught cheating???? NO
Is the fuel rule now more specific???? YES
Are they gonna test, and enforce it???? HOPEFULLY
Is Team FRANKENSTEIN gonna whip him in 2008 DEFINITELY!!!!!
PICTURES OF TRUCK FOR YOU ALL TONIGHT.....(NOT TOO MUCH DONE, YET).
Any suggestions as to where to put the next rear support? between the upright and forward brace, or behind axle to frame?
Any other suggestions welcomed.....
P.S. its 2 1/2" X 1/4" heavy stuff.

I'd put a brace foward from rear , and one back like a V and one from back lower side of axle rearward closest to end of frame, or under were your hitch will be supported . The front traction bars should be bolted to brackets that are welded to frame and rear and def, made longer similar to pos. I used all 1 1/2 x 1 1/2, 3/16 wall. nice and light.

Those are oliver Billet rods.....stronger than any h-beam on the market......just ask anyone on here. Most h-beams I-ve seen are scat or Cat, or eagle, or some other wanna be item. will they run good in your engine? for the most part, yup.......Are they in the same class as an oliver rod?
NOPE!!!!!!!

Hey Adrian
Where are those progress pictures you've been promising?
I'm waiting on my clutch to do anything with the engine.......I bought an ignition and start retard from Dan.....I'm still welding on the rear suspension.......and have yet to do driveline loops, and paint.
Not much to take a pic of....But I will, as they come. Now for the long weekend, I should get a lot done.

Just want to clarify
May 27 2008, 3:52 PM
Yep, Adrian has it right. I was a first-year board member when this fuel dispute came up. After the board worked together, we came up with a specific list of fuels for the pro-stock class. I think it worked well after it was implemented. Is it going to be enforced? Absolutely. For too many years, rules were selectively enforced. The board finally realized that and started educating then enforcing when it came to rules. No more exceptions. We did have a fuel check in the pro-stock class come under fire, and it did show something in the fuel. However, the chain of custody of the sample was broken and it wasn't in a sealed container so we performed another check. That sample came back clean. This dispute caused a rift in our association and the start of another association in Colorado, but I think there is room for both of us. We run in totally different circles.
And, to comment on another item I've noticed posted here -- street stock events at our sanctioned pulls are left up to the promoter. About four years ago, when we noticed a wide discrepancy in the way the events were handled, our group sat down and attempted to write some suggested rules/classes, etc. We now give that to the promoters as a strong suggestion. However, they are not obligated to run those rules (but most now do). I think its helped the street stock. However, now we've noticed fewer and fewer groups adding street stock. When we ask, we get a myriad of responses. Believe me (and I've co-promoted pulls, too), street stock can make or break a pull.
We'd love to see more of you at our events. My brother has a smaller version of the CTTPA sled (he was at Julesburg) and the truck pulling events he attends are growing each year. Frostbite, love to see you at Mitchell (we were there at Julesburg - my 7 year old and 10 year old pulled their International C's during the tractor part of the event).
If you have any questions about the events, just let me know. I'd be glad to help. My e-mail is glen@cttpapull.com, phone 308-262-5545. /s/Glen

Yep, that was me. I was disappointed as well. The kids love to pull those old tractors so I guess it wasn't an entire waste. They will be pulling in Gering on June 14 at the antique tractor pull. Then, they should be helping tow tractors at the CTTPA pull in Mitchell on June 21.
I hope I was factual enough, and didn't offend anyone? I try to be as honest as possible with my posts because the guys on this site are A-PLUS and have helped a lot!!! I have no problem divulging my truck specs, since my competition has the same rules....
See you in Mitchell...

P.S. Could you add My truck name (FRANKENSTEIN) to the members portion of the website?? Thanks.
Adrian,
Sure thing... we are going to do an update a little later this week. By the way, I just wanted to let you know that the Colorado State Fair has moved up the start time for our classes to 1 p.m. on September 1.
Thanks for the update Glen.....I wanted to put the truck in the local Labor Day Parade that day, but will have to play it by ear. I Definitely would rather miss the parade than the pull!!!
I graduated In Pueblo, and will have to get a massive campaign going to get attendance up...
IF YOU CAN'T PULL WITH THE SLED DAWG.. BUY YOUR OWN SLED

here's the story if anyone is interested.
at brighton 2006 we had a 2 day pull, and at that time i had a flat bed trailer and my truck had gotten second place the first night.
after the second night, i got 1st and was protested for my fuel. There had been some controversy regarding my truck being accessible to everyone that night before and the timing was .... well, let's say...... questionable. The sample was taken and passed around to at least 5....... YES 5 people, two of which had trucks in the class that i had won. This was obviously a questionable test and I was not happy. The test came back with a chemical called pyrilidine in it and after talking to the chemist in California that preformed the test, it was stated to me that one of the people that had possession of my sample had called them with some advice as how to complete the report... sounds fishy to me...... after dong more research, that chemical was leached out of the plastic bottle that the sample had been in.
my take on the situation....... somebody can't stand to lose, and will do anything and everything to prevent that.... uhm..... that'll make you think, won't it
IF YOU CAN'T PULL WITH THE SLED DAWG..... BUY YOUR OWN SLED.
feel free to call me anytime if you would like to discuss this in more detail... 308-249-1885
there's much more to pulling then more power, and firewalling the throttle

I find it admirable that you came to the site to state your case! I agree that once you are on top, everyone wants a shot at the title! The story surrounding your situation definitely implicates you in a BAD way, So stepping up and clearing the air on your part is great...
However, There's a new CHEVY in town...and although I'm new to the sport, and won't have all the bugs out of the truck for a few pulls...I plan on being VERY competative!!! I'm not shooting for the points race, due to the distance of some of the pulls. I will however, be taking advantage of the new organization (NSPA) in order to get more hooks close to home. I do it for the addiction to HORSEPOWER!
You definitely have an advantage on me, since I am so open with my project on this site, and on my web page...But we all have the same rules, and if we both max them out, then the chess match is on...
Look forward to pulling against you in some friendly COMPETITION....

Yea but: Aren't there some little round things that come in the MSD dist. so you can set your initial at say 10 degrees(for starting) and put in a 20 degree advance ...then that will give you 30 total. I wished I could remember what they were called but there are 3 of them red, blue and black. And they are for different total timing. Thats what I am using. I could be wrong.

No no in the distributer. They are called advance stop bushings. I found my MSD dist. instructions. And there are different Bushings for different advances. I'm sure the retard box will work and maybe better. I've never seen one before. I sure hope those bushings work cause thats what I am using.
The meat and potatoes of the weight bar are done....Just need to make it prettier..

I like how you put bar bell weights in the middle for easily moveable weight. I may have to look at that for mine until I get a new weight bar made next year.

couldn`t you mount the weight bar flat with the removable weight's on the back side? that way most of your weight would be closer to your 60" or what ever your rule is.
July 5th is basically my test and tune day. I will learn all kinds of stuff on the new engine, suspension, weight bar, and tires. I could care less about paint and body for right now. If I learned anything from this forum, it will probably set and pull pretty good. Of course, there are always fine tuning adjustments... LOL
