I will not drive more than 4 hours one way for a pull.....with exception of Mitchell NE....That's why 2 organizations suits my fancy....More pulls in my range.
If you listen to Rush, Hannity, O'reily.....Fuel could easily hit 7 or 8 dollars a gallon in a year!!!!!!!! There is nothing we can do about it!!!!!!
I pull for fun not prize money....When it becomes not worth it to travel, is when I build my own sled and host local pulls only! There are easily 50 people that would do it every weekend in my county alone!
Maybe, I'll just do that?
Anyway....It is the southwest....Lots of wide open space between large venues...

to be loaded lol. 4 hours in your mountain terrain means lot's of fuel. Diesel is $4.95/gal here, so filling my tank means $200 right now. If I baby it, pulling the trailer I MIGHT be able to get 250-300 mi. I'm thinking pulling for me is not going to be as frequent this year. Maybe when my salary catches up to inflation.... yea right.
Seems like with prices sky rocketing, this is hurting not just the US but every other country as well. I would think everyone is going to be hurting. All because of speculation and no facts!
With that new association I see there is going to be a Truck pull during the Sturgis Bike ralley. Thats only 25 miles from me.I'll have to find out if they allow non-members and what there rules are.
Digger....I don't mean to be blunt...But, you need to just step up and PULL with the associations!!!! I learned real fast that the street crowd is not welcome! As soon as you get your truck within safety specs, and pay the meager fee, you will be able to hit as many as 20 events per year between the two clubs, not including your stuff I don't know about...
I hope to pull against Digger one day....the choice is yours.
P.S. I mean NO malice....

Associations are nice because the rules are the same at every sanctioned pull.
Anytime 2 or more of our friends here in Reddog go down the track at the same pull, someone better film it and post it. I'd hate to have to send guido to bust some knee caps. lol

Diesel: Maybe::: "IF" we both get to Mitchell and we are in a different class than each other they will let us do a grudge match. But you got to relize that my motor is getting close to being 8 years old (just getting broke in, right) and still am not positive I will have the bounce out of it or my drive shaft breaking problem solved.
Digger, I know you are not able to compete with Pro-Stockers now, But what I'm saying is that you need to.....And that means getting the truck up to snuff and doing it! I know money doesn't grow on trees and stuff....just ask my wife. I fight about it all the time! But if your gonna do it... do it all the way. I learned that right away. I have a lust for HP and wanted to exploit it ASAP! It cost me a bit of money...but after this summer I will be Mucho Contento...! Is is worth it? ALL DAY LONG. And I don't have to complain about bull cause I have many places to do it and have fun. Fun for the whole family! cause there is always a fair or something associated with it. Love to see you there.........
I can't justify going Pro-stock. I don't have the time and can't commit to that many weekends. Not to mention, most important, being able to afford it. Especially now with the fuel prices and living in South Dakota. It makes me sick to think of the money I have wrapped up in the truck already. No body knows better than me how the stock pullers are treated. For the last few years the stock class has actually been very good with the 3 different classes of stockers. You should have been there when we were all lumped together. The few pulls that CTTPA allow stockers to attend is enough for me. Oh, and another thing, for you guys that say your wife doesn't mind you spending money on your truck and being gone to the truck pulls. Huh. There will be a day when shit hits the fan. I've seen it happen. I always try to stay just under the line of fire. Diesel; I really appreaciate you wanting me to join pro-stock but it ain't gonna happen. I'm having too much fun going to the antique tractor pulling events here in S.D. and pulling exhibition. Sounds kind of corny but the people at these tractor pulling events love seeing my truck.
