Well we left for Sevierville on Thursday with intentions on getting some quality time at the track (Go-Carts that is) Unfortunatly the alt. gave up on the hall truck just as dad got it into town. Luck would have that a parts house was right there, luck would also have it that the alt. that they sold us was bad also. ha ha way to start a weekend, so after repairs it was feed sack time and off to bed. Friday arrived and so did pulling time, The track was a bit rough but, man was it hooking, some of the tractors before our truck class had moved several hundred pounds of weight to the nose and still stood straight up. Well time for our turn. Several trucks ran and had good hooks rough but, good. A ford set out front at I believe was a touch over 300. Then it happened, One of our tops trucks layed down a pass at a touch over 22 miles an hour and put almost 20 foot on the leader. So I was finally my shot, next to last hook knowing that it was a big mark to match, so I wound it up tight, eased of the clutch felt it hook then stuck my foot in the carb, clunk the front sank and I was done. 108 and the poped the rear yoke. Oh well.
Got the truck back togther pretty quick with the help of some guys in the class so got it ready for Sat.

Saturday the track was not as good, the big dog from the night before went 298, then the Ford that was second from the Friday night went 319, After several other good trucks and good hooks I was the last puller. I backed it down on the take off a little and rolled it out almost 100 foot then let her eat, well it was a good run at a track speed of 21.4 mph, but was it enough??????No 2 foot short of the other Ford, but it stayed together, and it was Ford 1-2 so not bad and we live to play another day.

I hope to have Video of at least Sat. up I think Fridays video was offered as sacrifice to the U joint gods on Fridaynight after the truck was fixed... Ha ha

Good deal LM! Sounds like you had better luck than I did. My next hook is a week from today and I hope to have the truck ready to rock.

Ah yes I remember the growning pains back when I jump from Stock to Open stock.
Every part that was almost ready to brake did that year. Two motors and 6 U-joints and one ring a pinon. Oh ya ...

This one is Friday when I broke
Travis,
The last time I ran it was a mud track, is there any chance the clutch could have been glazed from that type of run, my truck rarely bounces and it was terrible in that run. Sat. going to the scales it felt a little grabby when I moved it, full peddle though so its not ready to re shim any thoughts??

This is the Link for saturday.
Alan what about those sparks????

Travis the clutch felt great at the end of that run, just curious about your thoughts, I eased off take off RPMS on Sat night just because it felt funny at the scale, no sign of slipping it just seemed to busk a little on take off , a little unusaul.

No run in the prostock class this weekend after breaking just wanted to make my class and get home

Man, I just hate a copycat.... LOL

So what's the story with a fireworks show on the rear end? have you got a brake back there that has issues?

Sorry about that Alan didnt mean to still any of the thunder

My theory on it....????!!!!!
Changed pinion yoke on Friday night lost pinion nut under truck
replaced with extra nut and finished. Guess I layed the nut on a bar under there because when we got home on sunday found the old pinion nut under the truck laying on the floor of the trailer. I hope that is all that was causing those sparks.

Any chance the yoke was hitting the loop?

I've got a copyright now on the underbody sparklers. Going to make my fortune so don't try to horn in. ROFL.......

No way that it was hitting, i guess the nut fell into the loop from where ever I laid it under the truck, I thought I lost it on the ground,
Its cool man I really dont want to keep the sparklers.

I guess im going to keep the 435 in it for at least one more week, didnt turn like I wanted it to on sat but i was easy on it at the line, going to a red clay track this weekend we should find out there for good, then I am going to consider the T18 because we go back to Sandy tracks.
