Why wouldnt a 1350 be a better joint, they use the same size caps and unless you need the 1410 for more driveshaft angle wouldnt the 1350 with the shorter cross be a better choice based on leverage??
Curioua as to your thoughts had a few discussions with pullers in our club about it lately.

I thought I read somewhere that the 1350 yokes could take more driveshaft angle than the 1410's?

your thinking backwards. think of a 1350 joint as a 3/8" ratchet and the 1410 1/2" ratchet. to apply a 100 ftlb of torque withe the 3/8 it would take aprox 200 lb (6" handle) the 1/2 only requires 100 lb (12" handle).

So the ears of the yoke on a 1410 joint see less force than the ears on a 1350. thus making the 1410 stronger

Ok that make sense. I wasnt even thinking about the strength of the Yoke I was thinking more of the strength of the cross and it having more of a load on it because of teh extra lev. on it.
