Ok my turn to post a play by play. We went to Lafayette today after getting all the repairs done from the Columbus run and at first I didn't think we'd get to pull because it rained on us on the way there, but the worst must have went around the track. We did get a short shower while staging, but all that did was help the track as it was not the best.
Our class was first and I drew 3rd from last hook, so I had the benefit of watching several trucks run before I brought Horsin Around to the line. I watched the guy ahead of me run and decided to leave the sled spotted where he did since the pan was on a high spot. I brought Horsin up and left out riding the clutch a little, then started to come up on the cam when the sled rocked me a bit, and I was afraid it was starting to bounce like it did in Columbus so I lifted and let it settle then slammed the go fast rod home. The tires hooked up and that 460 came to life and was on the chip most of the trip down the track. When we came to a stop, Horsin was sitting in first place with 3 trucks behind me including the #1 truck in our class.
This was new ground for me, having to sit and watch the other trucks to see if they knock you off. Ended up getting knocked off and the class finished with me sitting in second.
Not first but I'll take it as I haven't finished in the top 3 with ITPA since I started pulling with them. We'll inspect the truck tomorrow, and hopefully will be able to make the next 3 pulls this week.
Here is a video of todays pull. My daughter filmed it, so I'll have to give her some pointers for next time filming. lol www.horsinaroundpulling.com/Videos/lafayette2008.wmv

That flagman that you have pisses me off. Standing in the middle of the track like that. Making it so you have to be strait by the time you get to him. I would have made it so he had to move and used up twice the amount of time. Paying that kind of money for hook fee. Thats MY time on the track.
Hey Travis thanks for catching that. I did have the link messed up. I was showing the crappy run I had last week at Columbus. I'd rather forget that one, lol.... The link should be correct now.
