Greg, Pete, linda and myself were building a rollcage to get my tractor ready for this weekend....... at around 3:00 am this morning i was headed home..... stopped by the side of the road to check my load and out of nowhere a big giant mexican was standing behind me...... he asked "hey man, would you happen to have any gasoline?"......
I WAS AFRAID....... VERY AFRAID
fortunately it was on the up and up...... i didn't have any gasoline to part with and he went on his way..... don't know about you guys..... but that was WIERD...... VERY WIERD.
He must have escaped from my garage. Right Alan. LOL.
Damn, that is WIERD and Scary.

MAN!! I WISH I COULD GO TO CALHAN! tomorrow to see the new toys. You guys should read this story about my aunt and uncle's business in colorado kinda goes with sean's story. http://www.reporterherald.com/news_story.asp?ID=17916
my 27 has bearing issues as well....... those FEs just don't like anything above 7200...... they're a wonderful engine with their own unique sound, but honestly..... i had to pull a few teeth.. but i finally gave up on the FE powered pull truck....... i'll fix the bearings, mill off the piston domes and retire it to a cobra car........
however... if you still want an FE... i got PLENTY of good stuff.... tunnel port heads....... polished crossram 2x4 with polished holleys.... medium riser heads...... high riser heads.... lemans rods....... rockers...... electris CSR water pump...... sfi dampers...... headers....... 4x4 oil pans....... etc etc etc........
Oh and I decided to go a different direction with our truck and that is why I haven't gotten ahold of you but that may change again in the future. Thanks though. I will keep your number just in case.

I would like to hear more also sean on your new tractor. But i wont be surprised if you want to keep it secret until calhan
I picked up a mod tractor with two 502s in it..... it won't be long b4 those become a boat anchor and better running more reliable fords are in there....... or hell..... i might drop a turbine in there... the crowds seem to love the whistler.
sean
jerrod....... the problems with the bearings was that a chevy guy did the crank, and that was my mistake..... it's just a stock 28 crank
So...who won you or Greg? (Im patiently waiting for the results on cttpa.com) I read that the multi engine tractors run way more consistant then the turbines. But if the track is just right the turbines will dominate. But i never seen in person a turbine take on a multi engine, just one or the other. I would like to see some allison v-12s pull one day, i hear they have a neat sounding distinct tone to them.
he's got quite the advantage on me.... i've only driven 4x4 trucks... so I've got plenty to learn.... right now i'm just havin fun ... i finally got the wheels off the ground the 3rd night..... that's a whole lot different then getting all four off the ground like i did in calhan. lol

I've always figured I was paying too much for eye care!!!
We are both on the bottom end of a huge learning curve. Even though I beat Sean, I am sure he will return the favor as there is a lot room to improve the motors. One thing for sure, I think we both had a blast.
I do need to get a helmet with earholes since I already have a facemask.
Greg
PS The econos and prostock 4X4's pulled my mini sled at Oakley. Much fun. Sean hit 26.5 mph top speed on way to his 315' run and had to lift because he was scared....
Results from Calhan and Aurora are posted. I'm trying to get Oakley's posted later today. I even hope to have videos from Calhan and Aurora posted later today. I had a dr. appointment in Cheyenne yesterday and didn't get home until late.
One comment I'd like to make... we had on H-E-double Hockey sticks of a great time, even with my tractor troubles. We had pullers from nine states over the thre days, and the crowds really liked some of the new iron (especially the mini-rods).
When the videos come up, be sure to check out the Astro Express mini van that pulled in the Two Wheel Drive class - he never set the front wheels down the entire length of the track.
Next up... Cheyenne Wells this Thursday and Brush on Saturday.
See everyone there!
