Has anyone ever put a bigger input shaft into a NP435 or a Borg and Warner T-18. Right now both are the stock 1 1/6 10 spline input and I am looking to go a 1 3/8 10 spline if that is possible. any input is much appreciated

Thanks
Dave

TA knows more about this than I do and will comment, but I'm thinking a NP435 from a medium duty truck has a bigger input shaft.

The input shaft in the F-500, F-600 NP435 is 1-3/8" 10 and they will interchange from 435 to 435 not sure about T-18, the bigger shaft is what I have in the Stressed Out truck and it came out of an F-500. Walt

If you get the input shaft from a med. duty truck, make sure you get the candle stick to go with it.

what about the length of the input shaft? did you have to cut it down or anything

I don't recommend cutting the shaft, what I did when I built the truck was I made a 3/4" thick block saver plate and made a pilot bearing to fit my crank and shaft this put everything back to the right dimensions, you also have to use a different throw out bearing assembly or at least change the throw out center hub, take some measurements and if by chance the difference is minute then I don't see a problem with trimming the shaft.
