The gears don't matter because he is going to put an F106 center section in it. Where are you guys located? My friend is down around Greencastle, IN so that's where he'd be driving from.

Whats the advantage to putting a f106 center in a d100 housing?

Im currently converting my f106 to 8 bolt and wondered if im wasting my time or what.

Re advantage

Weight is the advantage from what I'm told. The D100 is a lighter housing but excepts the 106 center section.

We are located in Center Ky, nearly due south of Louisville and not that far from Bowling Green.
The spindle bearings are not the same and the axle lengths are different, the 100 center does not fit in the 106 housing, I am not sure about the other way.

The 106 center section will fit in a D100 housing with modification. It is not a bolt in installation.
