What can I use to remove the input shaft bearing on a sm465? The manual shows a special tool that I don't have. I tried coming in from the back side, and it comes out so far then stops.

Finally got the case gutted. Saved all the bearings except the rear bearing on the countershaft. Had to end up getting a specalized smoke wrench to remove it, but since I didn't need to save anything inside the case, it was no problem. I'm glad I saved 3 of the 4 bearings though because the 2 rear bearings are $53 ea. ouch!

Yes, I'm putting in a new pro-fab kit in it and selling the pro-fab 465 that is currently in the truck. So if anyone is looking for a 465 muncie with the early style profab kit in it, let me know. I will be selling it complete except for the shifter.

the new ones you can change the head sets to get different gear ratios. the old ones were a one shot deal

No that isn't correct unless there is an early early one. The early ones can change the headset, at least this one can. The early ones have a second gear that is only good for around 725hp or so. That is what Larry Peterson told me last summer. Also the 2nd to 3rd ratio is a little wider.

This transmission is great for the hot street guys.
